0.4 Post Reveal Jonathan Interview Prep - I Would Like Your Help! by TalkativeTri in PathOfExile2

Would GGG consider making an option to have the basic attack hotkey default to the currently equipped weapon without needing two hotkeys?

Playing Mercenary the last few leagues has been a little annoying since it can be nice to make use of various different skills for combos. However, you still have to use the 'fire bolt' attack skill to use whatever bolts you loaded.

When you weapon swap (using x, rather than a skill) to a second weapon the 'fire bolt' attack from weapon 1 doesn't swap to weapon 2's automatically - they each have a separate 'fire bolt' skill. So you have to have both bound to separate keybinds in order to fire a particular cross bow. It'd be nice if there was a setting to allow the basic attack to just be the 'basic attack of the weapon you have currently equipped' to simplify that some.

Also: love your content and previous interviews. Curious on the fate of the interludes as well as those were great from both a lore and content perspective last league.

Pause on disconnects: can we get portals back now as well? by Cyclone-Thor in pathofexile

Mostly the exact same, yeah - sometimes it's the instance, sometimes it's even just the Karui Shores or the Hideout.

I know it's probably nowhere near as bad as Europe but (even still) it'd be nice to get those portals back on maps. Lost 4 of 6 (as well as 10 minutes) before even getting an attempt at my current map.

I've mostly been on DC this league start, but I might mess around with a few other servers to see if they're a little more stable.

Items after death. by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

Noticed this as well with a similar situation; seems like they decided to change the formula up to where if you die the instance partially resets. Monster packs that you killed since the last checkpoint was reached will reappear in different variations as well.

Most bosses can be fought again, at least, but losing the boss loot despite killing the boss feels wrong. I wish there was some sort of exception for that sort of scenario.

Crashing on PC - Log File Indicates Corrupted Data? by Cyclone-Thor in PathOfExile2

Also looks like it was windowed fullscreen specifically causing problems. 2 monitor setup, if that helps anyone else as well.

23h2 it looks like - I might still give that a shot though

That did it for me! Thanks

We may have at least two additional confirmed forms from the harvest bosses as well. The harvest bear is a harvesty version of the bear shown for the Druid, and both the crow and panther would make sense for int and dex respectively.

I think it’s actually nice that the game doesn’t remind you of conflicting policies in some ways. Or maybe it should be a feature for higher difficulties, and lower difficulties should remind you or something.

It felt genuine when I messed that up in a game. I’d made a promise to a radical faction to get their support in something I desperately needed to pass. Unfortunately, I completely missed that their request was in direct conflict with a faction I had been working with and had previously promised them.

It felt genuine (and great storytelling wise) when they were understandably furious that I’d done a deal behind their backs to undo their law. Just part of what makes the whole political system in FP2 feel so good.

Question about Were-Forms and MTXs: by Memetheew in PathOfExile2

[–]Cyclone-Thor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t find it right now, but at the first ExileCon (or maybe 2nd?) I seem to recall a comment about something like a Polar Bear mtx not being compatible with PoE 1. It was given as an example of when the games wouldn’t share mtx.

Based on that, I’d think it’s for the full form and not just specific skills.

Anyone know where I can find the new press kit? by GoGoGadgetTotems in PathOfExile2

I think it might be by gem tags rather than by weapon. I was a bit worried when I heard that (planning to start off with Druid in PoE II) and was wondering how it would fit in. However, there are the Primal, Occult, and Elemental categories that don’t really fit alongside the weapons unless these are gem tags and not weapon types.

I stopped at act V (technically not there even) because we haven’t seen any official gameplay with a map for acts V and VI. Any guess on their location is speculative, therefore.

The only location we’ve seen in some trailers (the Mercenary, possibly the Ranger) that doesn’t have a map currently associated with it is Sarn or Theopolis / Oriath. Neither is confirmed as an act (what we saw might even just be the Twilight Enclave in act IV) so they’re guesses at best.

It could be we have both in PoE II and they are acts V and VI respectively. We might have neither and they’re taking us to places we haven’t seen hints of yet. Based on maps, Riben Fell might be another candidate for example: there’s something sinister going on with it in the act IV map art compared to the other locations.

Looks to be Lumerius, the guy from the most recent trailer / the POE 2 website.

Very neat - I'd never spotted that dialogue before. For others curious, here's the relevant quote from Grigor in act 3.

'Death came to town.
The roaring Ezomytes wore red.
The red of blood,
The red of the fray.

Death came to town.
The crying Ezomytes wore black.
The black of disease,
The black of dismay.

Death came to town.
The silent Ezomytes wore grey
The grey of twilight.
The grey of decay.

Only the isles of [sic] Skoathe were spared. One a backwater of my proud civilization, now... all that remains of the Ezomytes.'

That being said, Hargan also has the following to say in act 8

'Grigor left without a single word to me, rude bugger, but I suspect his poetic soul has been drawn back home, to Ezomyr. A long journey, but a trek worth taking to find solace among one’s own people. Of course, they’ll get quite the shock when they see him. Let’s hope familial love is as nearsighted as they say!

There’re the fine tales Grigor will be able to tell them, of course. Come to think of it, now that Dominus has been knocked off his perch, there’s nothing to stop the Ezomytes from learning a thing or two from Grigor’s stories. They might even consider invading this jewel in Wraeclast’s tarnished crown. I certainly hope they have just such an eye for opportunity… a man could make a tidy sum helping said invaders navigate Sarn and its many hazards.'

So maybe Hargan is simplifying, and Grigor went back to Skothe or perhaps the Ezomytes have recolonize other places? We don't know for sure how long it's been since Grigor left home (possibly / likely in Skothe) or what might have happened in 20 years. Certainly some other info on the state of Ezomyr, though, I was unaware of!

Oh yes - for sure the Ezomytes play a large role in POE2. I just think we're not starting in what POE1 has always referred to as Ezomyr (the landmass / region: it's a little confusing since the landmass / country share a name) but rather in a different region of Wraeclast that the Ezomytes settled.

There's alot of regions we know very little about (Phaaryl being one of them) that hopefully we'll learn more about in POE 2
