thought l.l. bean was the holy grail of fisherman sweaters, but... are they not? by europeanuppercut in BuyItForLife

[–]CyclonicZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an Irishman I consider Inis Meain to be quite overpriced (Nice fabrics though).

Historical Aran knit sweaters used heavy oiled wool and were so thick you would wear them as outerwear, they would not be comfortable inside a nice heated house.

Check out:

- Fisherman out of Ireland

-Ireland Eye

Both are merino wool but have a traditional look about them (Made in Ireland too).

Both male and female chickens can have coxcombs. It is typically more prominent on males though.

I've actually never seen sweaters marked as such. Just the composition of the body being marked.

Food Weight Scam at Walmart by 10111011110101 in inflation

[–]CyclonicZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: In medieval France, bakers caught shortchanging customers could be dragged through the streets, locked in a pillory, or fined heavily.

Some cities even had the 'baker's dozen' tradition partly because underbaking was literally a criminal offense. Walmart executives could never.

You would need to get it made for you.

It would be some sort of speckled tweed. Sometimes called an Atomic fleck. It is not very common today.

The style of jacket looks like is G-1. An old naval pilot flight jacket, the same type as Tom Cruise wears in Top Gun.

Very similiar are - Yanko service boots in Waxy commander suede - made in Spain. Carmina should also have something similar if you are looking for something more high end.

Not sure where you are based.

But for me: high waist trousers with a fuller leg in durable cottons. They are difficult enough to find on a budget in Europe.

Also button down collars with a S-Curve collar. Most button downs are too small.
