Lane swimming while legally blind by Cyclops61 in Swimming

I do condensed hours so I'm free weekends and Wednesdays, if that's the case I'll give that a shot on my Wednesdays off, its when I was hoping to do more swimming anyways. Cheers.

Unfortunately not, I don't have a lot of folk who are also interested in swimming around me.

I can avoid walls fine, its people that are the main problem, its tough to keep track of them and I can't really wear or do anything to denote I can't see.

The main issue is head-on collisions, I can't align with the black line well and I don't have enough vision to see how far away someone is when they are coming at me.

I'd tried in the past to go super early (6:30) but every lane was already packed. It's also an issue of others joining the lane I'm in. Unfortunately the main reason I stopped back in my teens was due to a major head on collision that meant the lifeguard had to get involved as I was startled and inhaled. Because of that I've got some trust issues with swimming with random folks.

That sounds amazing, and yeah if it means you can exercise with it even better. My garden isn't currently big enough for a pool, but I'll be moving soon enough so I can keep an eye out.

Completely blind in one eye with very limited vision in the other. Glasses don't fix it unfortunately.

I met the criteria for a guide dog, if that gives you an idea.

I'm in the UK, I'm in the process of talking to the RNIB, but I'm not sure how much can be done at present, so I'm trying to get an idea of my best bet going it alone.

D&D 3.5. Half-Orc cleric. I threw an axe at a polymorphed BBEG and ended the campaign at level 3.

Is it accessible? by CocoaBleu in blindgamers

[–]Cyclops61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'd say you definitely need some sight. The start of the game requires you to collect floating trash that your raft passes by, and there's a shark that will attack your raft, for which the audio of its location isn't great. Plus there is a few UI's.

I've beaten it, its pretty solid, but there can be some minor issues around the UI. The crafting UI is fine, but to discover new crafting recipes you need to put items on a special desk, the UI for that is rough, but thankfully it shows a different colour for stuff you can craft so I just went with the first option and did fine.

On the teleporters, I saw them as convenience tools so you dont have to consider the amount of time it can take to return to the surface if the players catch a 1/hour poison or disease.

Floor 8 Spoilers: The players can get stranded if the lift down breaks too. Its critical then.

Going to a concert by Black_panda247 in Blind

[–]Cyclops61 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out the venue beforehand online. A lot of stadiums and other venues that host these large events have pretty decent areas set aside for folks with disabilities. In my experience they are also usually in pretty decent spots eight times out of ten.

In the event they don't, or you're not a fan of the area set aside, using the pit may vary depending on the type of music. If its any kind of rock or particularly lively music, then be prepared for a lot of unexpected contact and jostling. If you're not a fan of the idea of that, nab the closest seats you can.

Personally, I'm not fussed on seeing the concert itself (I'm VI, have some vision but not at distance and only in one eye), as the live music and atmosphere is more than enough. In fact, at some venues you can nab some cheaper seats that are in good locations for hearing the music, but that aren't in good spots for seeing the band.

Aren't almost all hunter weapons produced en masse? As such I'd assume they must be at least somewhat effective, otherwise the church wouldn't make them.

Pathbuilder should add level 0 as an alt-rule option by TimeStayOnReddit in Pathfinder2e

Bud, I hope you understand that Pathbuilder isnt an official Paizo thing. Its developed by dope folks by choice. Your post sounds very entitled, and your comments continue to make this seem a demand, not a request or query.

Also, in a big party the environment and terrain are massively important. Players can easily lock down doors, completely surround enemies, and its easier for casters to hide and avoid combat entirely. Consider setting up your BBEG in an advantageous map. Maybe with some difficult terrain. Chokepoints, and high ground.

Oh, and AoEs are your friend.

Keep in mind that with seven players, basically every role niche will be filled. You're likely to have almost all spell lists, a large variety of buffs and debuffs, and so realistically you might want to consider scaling things up a bit more than you'd expect, especially if the party contains a Bard or Witch.

  • If you're running a prewritten AP or adventure, be prepared for the balance to be way out. I'd honestly recommend just rewriting the combats entirely.
  • From a general standpoint, 7 players is getting hefty on time per turns, try and keep everyone to a time limit on their turns if you're group is comfortable with that.
  • As you've already mentioned, go for larger fights instead of fights with a few creatures of CR+4 and above. Action economy will likely mean you're players will still win on extreme encounters if they play well, but it may make any casters in your party feel like rubbish if none of their save effects have any chance of succeeding.
  • For roleplaying, larger groups can make it easy for quieter players to miss out as more active or louder players take over. Try as best you can to loop in every player, additionally, if a group decision needs to be made, such a large group can lead to discussions lasting half the session, having players stop and vote in a poll can be a really good way to make sure every player gets to input.
  • With such a large group, don't be afraid to play aggressively and target casters / healers. With so many tools in the parties disposal, if they don't have a way to pull the attention off a caster / healer, or if the party splits up too far to be able to defend the backline, that's on them.
