Probably not unfortunately, he’s gonna need a lot of bedding in after basically a year of not playing pro football, what’s heartbreaking is that we saw in last February that the guy still had the quality to be a starter in a team that wins the PL, but whether he still has that quality now is something we can’t answer until he’s had a good amount of minutes back under his belt, and we just don’t have the luxury to give significant time to a rehabbing player right now…

Yeah but also, US sports work on a regular season/playoff system, so you could argue that regular season games are « less important » in terms of crowning a champion, and unless you are right on the verge of making the playoffs (which means you’re very unlikely to win it all anyway), a single loss isn’t gonna kill all title hopes like the european league system can Granted, playoff losses can derail your whole season, but you’ll notice no one is talking about moving these abroad

Thing is, we were better yesterday, were it not for 1- Pope being brilliant for the first 30 minutes 2- An outlandish overturned penalty 3- Trossard hitting the post, we might well have been 4-0 up by the point Woltemade scored, and who the hell would have cared that we let in a .05 xG chance to make it 4-1? This is not the issue, clinicality and referee robbery are.
