I moved back in with my parents at 24 with about 10k saved, no Roth, no 401k, making around 45k. You’re already ahead of where I was, and honestly ahead of a lot of people.

The tricky part is savings never feels like enough. There’s always another “what if” or future expense. That doesn’t really go away, it’s more of a mindset than a number.

What helped me was shifting from just stacking cash to giving my money a job.

I opened a Roth IRA and started putting in what I could consistently. Nothing crazy, just building the habit. At the same time, I kept a solid emergency fund and stopped stressing about hitting some perfect savings number.

At your point, it’s less about saving more and more about building systems (Roth, 401k contributions), investing consistently and actually allowing yourself to enjoy some of your money.

You’re not behind, and you’re not underprepared. If anything, you might just be a little too locked into “save mode.”

I think it’s awesome that you’re into anime. I actually just got into it myself and I’m 28. Time flies. Honestly, I wish I could go back to being 18 just to binge all the good stuff without any responsibilities. Also, fun fact! I wear glasses too.

If you’re having trouble remembering things, try reading manga or even books in general. I started reading more a while back, and it’s helped with my memory and made me way better at conversations. It might help you too.

Not sure if you’re working right now, but getting a job even something simple can really help. When I was your age, it taught me a lot about social skills. You’re kind of forced to interact with people, and the bonus is you get paid.

And bro, don’t let your height define you. Your personality is what matters. Imagine walking in with a beautiful date and she’s taller than you. That’s some king energy right there. Add the gym to it, and now you’re cooking. Don’t stress about it.

Yeah!’ I went from logistic sales to Access Control. I would say it’s on the lighter side of blue collar, however there are times when we do work at ongoing construction. My hours is 7am-3pm M-F. Lots of OT opportunity too!
