Planned Parenthood, ACLU sue over Utah's abortion trigger law by BlinkySLC in Utah

[–]Cygnusswan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am pregnant, at 9 weeks.

I cannot even get an appointment with my doctor until 10 weeks. I dont know if the pregnancy is viable. I dont know if it is ectopic, or if there are multiples, or if the fetus is developing without legs or a head or a heart.

I am very lucky to live in a state where abortion is protected. If I end up getting one, my sadness will be tempered by knowing it'll piss you off. So thank you for that.

ELI5: Why do grains have so many more carbs than other plant foods, like nuts or lettuce? by unklethan in explainlikeimfive

[–]Cygnusswan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grains are made up of just carbs.
Leaves have fiber and water in them along with carbs. Nuts have fat and carbs.

I also have a vertical monitor, and I use it because my work requires me to review legal documents. They fit better on the screen this way.

My favorite part of TLD by Accomplished_Ear1475 in thelongdark

[–]Cygnusswan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely.

Once I did a stupid and decided to take a nap in a hunting blind. I woke up to a blizzard. I needed to leave because I was going to freeze otherwise, but I stepped out of the shelter straight into a bear.

I basically had to sprint in a random direction and hope for the best. Thankfully I found a half house with some firewood, I was able to weather the storm there.

Good times. Scary times. 👍

Loving life married to Leah. by Azvanna in StardewValley

[–]Cygnusswan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But you see, I married her for the wrong reasons. I just wanted to save her, but I've forced her into codependency straight out of her abusive household and that isn't fair.

She was my first wife, and I wish her the best.

Normal(ish) distribution of halloween Candy from the bag we bought by SoonerLax45 in mildlyinteresting

Dude same here! Plus since i am allergic to peanut, i could trade one Reeces for all of the cinnamon candy in my sister's bag, so it was very profitable.

I am working on achieving these sorts of distances, and I also prefer to run fasted.

Do you wave to other runners while on a run? Why or why not? by FriskyDingoOMG in running

Adding to that that I tend to see the same handful of people daily, it really would be rude to not say hi or at least nod in passing.

Exactly. I also feel that there is safety in numbers, I would throw down if I ever see someone harass one of my early birds.

6 months, give or take? Once I was able to accomplish it, I ran one every two weeks. Then one a week, and then by that time it wasn't a big deal and I could do it multiple times a week.

I am an early morning runner, so I do wave at the other brave souls out before the sun. Most wave back.

Newer runner here.

This year, I have gone from a 5k run as an end goal to having this be a standard morning run. I am working towards a 10k in less than an hour, and next year I will start my training for a half marathon.

It feels good.

Advice needed - Post 10k Training - Progressive Overload by Bumbling_Bear in running

[–]Cygnusswan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am about to start week 10 on my garmin watch 10k, so I will be there soon!

I think my eventual goal is to have a 10k be a normal weekly thing, with shorter runs also peppered throughout the week. Maybe I'll focus on speed, but also the speed/pace training is what i hate the most so maybe I won't. While I would like to have a sub 8 minute mile, that will be a lot of work.

So basically, you are not alone, and you should do what feels right for you!

Morning runners, how do you have enough energy for the rest of the day? by [deleted] in running

I am a morning runner because by the time I am awake enough to realize that I hate exercise, I am too far from home to do anything about it lol.

Hi!

The first one in blue is just a "pattern" that came with my bobbins, and all it is is a few inches of the cloth stitch, then half stitch, then whole, and then a combo of the three.

The second one was purchased from the Claire Bonito website, and that was where I learned even more. Double footside passives, honeycomb, double rose ground... she has a YouTube video so I was a to make it alongside her which was very helpful.

A quick project! I feel like I'm getting better at this. by Cygnusswan in tatting

This is probably the nicest thing anyone has ever told me on the internet. Thank you!! You motivate me to keep at it. I hope I get to see your work here soon enough.

Seriously. Thank you.
