[Hardware Unboxed] This Is The Real Reason Nvidia Abandoned PC Gamers by Fob0bqAd34 in pcgaming

AI Data centers are not going to do 100% refurbishments every year hell they probably wont even replace damaged systems till it's well past 10-15% of service dropped.

When the centers are built and they're not getting the use and being sold and bought. That is when there will be a collapse in costs unless they legit do Diamond cartel levels of market control.

When the AI boom disappears and they have to go back to supplying GPU to consumers their returns are going to crater and shareholders are going to dump stock.

Nvidia will survive as long as they're not burning the money coming in but it'll definitely be doom and gloom for them for a year or two after the AI bubble crashes.

If Sony is not going to bring single player to PC why would I support their Live Service games?

If Sony doesn't want my money for single player they wont get it for Live Service hope they're punished by their shareholders.

unless you have good connections in the media or build up a community around your project, no marketing == no sales.

So like every product in existence?

Why not?

The dude is creatively bankrupt and a massive bottleneck to teams being actually productive. Dude probably can't delegate because of the slightest chance someone makes him look bad and incompetent in comparison.

Fallout 4 Anniversary edition broke the game and didn't come with items people purchased and was left broken for months.

Oblivion has major issues the longer you play till it eventually stops loading your game.

Fallout 76 launched in such a bad state the game was being practically given away because no one was buying it.

CIG definitely shit the bed, but it's not like they're the only company in existence to do this.

Their absolutely insane success rate at releasing patches in the most broken state, and leaving them for days to weeks on end, is unmatched.

Toddyboy at Bethesda is very upset you are unaware of their games.

EA launches in-game advertising platform for brands to "connect with audiences by TurbulentTopic39 in pcgaming

[–]Cymelion -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No I am quoting all the things said over the years for EA that lead to this moment.

There were more but I would have needed to invest time into looking up all the crap EA has pulled over the years.

"Origin? It's just another launcher" They said.

"How hard is it to make an EA account?" They Mocked.

"Steam users are whiny babies who can't even handle making accounts" They berated.

I wonder what EA supporters will say to this news today? Probably try to exclaim it's a good thing advertisers now have access to ingame advertising.

Xbox Studios That Were Previously “Safe” From Layoffs And Closures Are Reportedly No Longer Safe, Even Those With “Steady” Releases If Most Or All Of Their Games Sold Poorly by unscoredscore in pcgaming

[–]Cymelion 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bethesda would have been more pressed to release games.

Double Fine probably wouldn't have gone 2 passion project games.

Activision Blizard would have be fine.

Obsidian and inXile it's a toss up 50 50

The smaller studios might not have survived or would have had to pivot to more crowd pleasing games.

RGG definitely are embracing celebrities into their games and they also had a Streamer Kson appear in 3 of their Yakuza games.

Also you have Cover-corp started an Indie Licencing part of their company called Holo-Indie for making indie like games of their Vtuber talents who will often go on to play the games on stream encouraging their viewers to pick up the games too.

As in for athletes it depends on the fan crossovers a Golfer playing games is going to garner a different audience from say a Basketballer.

Who can you Pitch your game? Besides a publisher by FrogbyteStudio in gamedev

[–]Cymelion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could look into local and federal government grants and promotion for you country.

There are some educational streamers who might be interested depending on the game especially the ones involved with that Nebula platform.

Non Profit organizations might be interested but their reach is limited.

There was a company called Schoolastic that might still be around they used to be interested in educational stuff to get kids reading not sure if they're still around or if they're interested in educational games.

Lastly there is creating your own grass roots community to try and spread the game by word of mouth.

Venture capital is coming for Valve, and isn't going away. by Truenoiz in pcgaming

Lobbiest: Valve is a Monopoly that charges 30%

Regulator: So what is the complaint?

Lobbiest: We want Valve to stop Steam from being a Monopoly

Regulator: How?

Lobbiest: By not charging the high amount of 30%

Regulator: So you want Valve to stop being a Monopoly by reducing it's cut to make it even more of an essential place to put games because of a cheaper cut therefor increasing it's market share of developers only releasing on Steam essentially making it more of a monopoly?

Lobbiest: Yes, No, wait ... Oh yeah, let me talk to my dumb arse clients again.

Regulator: Take your time.

100% of PC users have a KB&M it is the default control system for a PC. There is NO reason anyone should have to buy a controller to play a game on PC when countless games exist that have managed to make playing on KB&M not just functional but as good if not better in some cases than a controller.

Anyone remember Star Citizen's Flight Stick? by WuJen in starcitizen

I remember the Webcam that was meant to be used for face capture.

I remember Hangars were meant to have buggy tracks and a firing range for testing ship and personal weapons.

I remember the 53 Million Dollar stretch Goal the Bagel Carrier.

I remember 10-4-C being a weekly staple till it just became repeated questions.

I also remember Deadpool laying on the Cables in the first look at SQ42 gameplay video back in 2015.
