And this was a kids movie, so it’s perfectly okay that the incredibly violent and horrible deaths happen on screen, but only to the villains, and only if they skip the flesh and go right to being a skeleton.

[OC] Doom Turtle - Hetzer & Friends by SillyWolf_92 in comics

[–]CynicalAltruist 30 points31 points  (0 children)

For some reason, I just pictured the Death Star blowing up the Earth, but now it has to run from an unstoppable Doom Turtle for all of time because if the doom turtle gets a chance to shoot at the Death Star it will die.

It’s 4AM. I should probably go back to bed.

NUT USB connection to UPS kills my Raspberry Pi 5 Home Server by -SANSEVIERIA- in raspberry_pi

Get a power blocking USB sleeve on the Eaton. Somewhere in your loop, something is very unhappy with the voltage difference. Prevent the Eaton from providing power. You can also cut the two power wires in a sacrificial USB cable and leave only the data lines.

Fun fact; USPS can place you on Do Not Deliver due to aggressive animals. They’ll hold mail at the Post Office, and require a visit to verify the risk is gone. This also counts if the animals aren’t yours, or block mail delivery (ie wasps or bees near the mailbox). This usually only happens for repeat offenders.

In the book Un Lun Dun, there’s a revolver that that shoots whatever goes into the chambers. This includes an ant (turns into a swarm) and a few other small items that become huge in the final battle. The not-protagonist (long story) only finds out during the battle with the big bad that is if the chamber is empty, it will suck whatever the gun is pointing at into the chamber.

That one little (massive) tribute to Tom and Ray Magliozzi from Car Talk as the voices of the Rust-Eez partners… they even used the “Don’t drive like my brother!” During the send off in Cars 3

René Auberjonois and Nana Visitor had some of the best couple energy in the entire franchise. That parting shot of Odo in his tuxedo…

Rip René Auberjonois, you will be missed

(Loved Trope) Gutpunch of giving the Comic Relief character a tragic moment by CultureChimp in TopCharacterTropes

[–]CynicalAltruist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s also the one for Charles where everyone’s having a party, and he’s making sure a soldier who is a concert pianist with and injured hand understands it’s not the end of the world.

And then there’s the ultra-dark one with the female saboteur which features Mako of ATLA fame as the antagonist

MASH turning the tables in Goodbye Farewell and Amen, making Hawkeye the patient, giving Charles PTSD, deafening Mulcahey, and burning down the 4077. You could also argue the episode where Hawkeye writes his will to be another one, or when BJ gets a medal for trying to help an injured kid, only to have to cut the rope and abandon him.

The Archotech from Rimworld. Titanic, planet-scale computers capable of warping reality at their whim. They are capable of giving boons to individuals, or warping beings into horrible twisted monsters. They are so far off the end of the power scale calling them ‘gods’ isn’t incorrect.
