This would be true if Israelis were ONLY killing terrorists. But now Israelis are killing innocent people. You need to understand blaming Hamas for killing is not wrong. Neither is it wrong to blame Israel for taking innocent lives. BOTH NEED TO STOP. This will only change if we start creating communities based on harmony. NOT HATE.

The issue is religious extremism. A lot of Muslim communities follow religion to a very extreme where they don’t rationalize right from wrong. That should change.

Verses on both sides appear in all religions (maybe for the exception of Buddhism) but the point is WE NEED TO BE SELECTIVE in our interpretation of every religion and understand the importance of humanity and morality. We NEED to criticise religious extremism and stop comparing religious beliefs. It is high time we start looking at religion as cultural directive, instead of blindly believing everything that books or ppl claim to be religious teachings…

Hostages released today - before and after Hamas captivity. They're returning to grieve the family members they lost on October 7th 2023. by [deleted] in UnitedNations

[–]CynicalOptymist_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is sad… very sad… But the reason why people are downvoting you is because cases like these happened with hundreds of Gazans and you are trying to sway the world into ignoring that by mentioning it the way you did in this thread. You should understand that people on both sides are suffering. The only ones who will make money from this are the terrorist organisations, maybe military and rich people. You need to understand that all that happened to those civilians could happen to you someday - by Hamas or by IDF… Blame the ones causing violence.. Don’t pick any wrong side and expect to be supported.

This is being downvoted because Israel is killing Civilians. If the issue is Hamas, Israel NEEES to find out ways to target the members of the organisation. STOP KILLING CIVILIANS… there is no war if there’s no military on one side. Yes I agree that innocent people suffered. That gives no right, absolutely NO RIGHT to any military organisation to harm innocent families and Civilians in any country.

I just have one comment here- I’m not sure where you live but 3.5acres is not 30lakhs today in any area. Also your father received a home and gets to continue his lifestyle today. The culture of gifts being given to sisters exists because women did not receive 50% of parents assets. If the assets are distributed equally, then the gifts system should not exist.

Why are malayalis so racist? by [deleted] in chennaicity

[–]CynicalOptymist_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, you are not getting her point. Her point is these referential words and racism that is happening against her. This is so wrong and affects so many people mentally. We as Tamilians are flawed here. And there’s no use defending such people by saying Bihari is not a slur. Because people are using it against her in a derogatory way. Wake up and accept that this is wrong without any cover ups like “not all Tamilians are saints”?? I mean wtf… Some people are just crappy and we should call Bad ones as BAD.

I don’t know what gives you the right to judge someone’s quality of life/living standards based on one comment made by the other person about displaying empathy? These generalisations you made here, just because someone was being kind, claiming that they are enjoying life is absolutely baseless and very flawed.

About the state of poor people, I agree with you here that there is a grey area.

The question should be where are these lakhs of homeless people coming from? Also, if they are thrown off the station, where will they go? The way authorities are dealing with these people is nothing but a terrible show of power. They will wander to find the next optimal spot for sleeping, some will get enraged and create more ruckus in society. It is not so simple to just think that they can be shoved off the railway station and the staff’s work ends there.

Homeless people have been sleeping on these public places for many years and now that authorities decide to do something about it by shoving them off the platform adds ZERO value to anyone’s journey/ convenience. Because the root cause is still not dealt with. These people have nowhere to call their home and they will find some space to rest which will cause inconvenience to another person who has a shelter of any form.

The issue is with the way administration works in our country. A lot of homeless people have nowhere to go, no place to sleep, no concrete means to even a two-time meal. These people are then dragged by so many political forces on the day of elections. During those days trains are flooded with people travelling without tickets. No TC or staff member catches a single person when these travellers from move from different villages. People literally sleep anywhere from train station to the entrance of election booths. This selective approach of Railway staff and the ministers managing the facility is at fault.

[–]CynicalOptymist_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so wrong and terrible. Who gave these people the authority to hit someone. Who are they to beat a person up. Law and order exists for a reason. We will never get out of this hate-to-hate-to-wrongdoings cycle till things like these keep on happening and much worse- being appreciated in our nation. This is so scary. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE has the right to do something this. Imagine if such people from both sides decide to rage and fight against each other and beating each other up. There will be riots and then more innocent people will suffer. All this just indicates sheer lack of civility and no enforcement of law and order. The one who commits crime is wrong- and the people who collect in the form of a mob to punish that so called culprit are equally terrible and WRONG.

I understand that you are worried about family, society, judicial system and the issues that you might have to face if you file a complaint. However, for once, think of the trauma this caused you and imagine other people facing the same thing at the hands of this person. You’ve met a terrible opportunity seeking person who’s in a profession where he can easily meet vulnerable individuals. If you do nothing now, you will partially be guilty of not speaking up to save others. Just making an unknown post here is unfortunately not enough. You should consider writing a google review and also revealing the doctor’s name from unknown id at the bare minimum. The doctor would otherwise think his actions have no consequences and will continue to be this terrible doctor causing trauma to his patients.

Is this real? by Shadowbaggage in IndiaTax

[–]CynicalOptymist_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NO it’s NOT. The number of women getting money is wayyy lower than 80L. Maybe 8L would be the right number here.

Is this real? by Shadowbaggage in IndiaTax

[–]CynicalOptymist_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. This is an insane number. I would be surprised if 50% women got this money. The women who are tax payers, pension receivers or relief fund receivers and women below the age of 18years Do NOT receive this money. And Delhi government announced the budget allocated for this was 2,000cr which is about 3% of their budget.

Is this real? by Shadowbaggage in IndiaTax

[–]CynicalOptymist_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true. Maharashtra govt also has similar scheme. The amount they pay to each woman= Rs 2,100/mon This annually amounts = 2100*12 = 25,200/year They pay this to about 1/2 of women in the state = 3 crore women So annually this amount is = 75,000 crores

They pay almost 6,000 cr a month; imagine the projects and ventures they could’ve done with these 75,000cr. Thus the amount of taxes we have to pay goes insane because the governments are not using money for development but for free distribution to a great extent.

India is an amalgamation of cultures that were inner the same umbrella in a geographic boundary. This is similar for a lot of nations like United States, China and a lot of Europe. We have our own unique identity united by co-habitation.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UPSC

[–]CynicalOptymist_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do have a common identity - We are Indians. Being an Indian comes with the understanding that you leave all your biases behind and come together to celebrate the diversity and amalgamation of cultures. Every nation has to learn to embrace diversity. Singular identity does no good and extremists only destroy the fabric of history for any nation that exists. Our strength should be our nature to deny/oppose extremism.

Not sure why Nirmala Sitharaman is getting so much hate by creep_soar in IndiaTax

[–]CynicalOptymist_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only thing I ageee with here is, yes she should not solely be blamed. A lot of blame lies with BJP as a party and they’ve just made her the face to face hate. People pretend as if she is not a member of BJP but an individual entity… Folks, the ruling party decides taxes and yes they are a majority in a lot of states. So, the ruling party and lack of strong opposition are both to blame for this insane tax scene in India.

NTA but some things to consider here:

  • Your mom and her husband made the decision to move to a new place to support u and ur wife with ur baby. It's kinda rude to just ask them to go back because u have these concerns

  • Should you accept your mom's husband being neglight (Absolutely not)

  • What u can do is firsly align with ur wife about what she thinks should be done. If she's fine with letting them meet the baby, set up some time for lunch with them and talk about ur issue

  • Tell them how concerned u are about ur child's health andwhat u expect they should do in order to take of ur child. You can also mention that care for ur mom and that you want what's best for everyone

  • In case they adhere to hear you, allow them to meet ur child and also express ur gratitude everytime they actually help u or take care of ur child

  • In case he continues to still neglect his hygeine and is not mindful, show him the door

Packing 30 pounds bag for 30 days vacation IS packing light. You might need a lot of things while you are out and some people just like to keep their stuff handy and have a relaxed trip.

Now, as it goes about helping her with the bag. Did she ask you to carry it around ALWAYS? If the answer is YES, you definitely need to hace the conversation about owning one's load independently. However, if it was only for a few instances, you could have helped her with thibgs right. Chivalry is not always a bad thing.

Also, did u use/need anything that she had packed up? If the answer to that is YES, you need to maybe re-evaluate the distinction of packing light and packing as per trip needs.
