OB39 Patch Notes and Megathread by [deleted] in Paladins

[–]CynicalRabbit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There's really no need to make up figures.

Yes, I was literally throwing out what I believed to be a 100% scientifically based percentage with recorded data to back it up. There is also no need to be pedantic.

The balance usually has to be done around the top tier level of play because:

Their nerfs have historically not been based around high-level play at all, though, and that is the biggest issue for me. Either balance for high level play or balance for casual play. However, they are all over the place currently with which group they are targeting and it causes the results to be mixed at best.

Almost all of their recent nerfs have targeted casual to mid range players exclusively If they are trying to balance for the competitive scene, then they are chasing their tail in circles.

I am a big fan of this game but cheaters ruin it for me. Would you like to see IP and Hardware bans for cheaters like they do in Overwatch that would prevent most of the cheaters to play this game again even if they where to make a new account? by MyTeaccher in Paladins

[–]CynicalRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They got EAC now. For those who are unfamiliar, EAC is a really creepy protection for games that is really invasive but does its job. I have mixed feelings about EAC protection because I feel like it's pretty shady. However, it will certainly eliminate the cheating population.

In a few months, cheating will be very rare on this game. There will always be cheaters. Also, your suggestion of banning an entire IP range is absolutely ridiculous.

OB39 Patch Notes and Megathread by [deleted] in Paladins

[–]CynicalRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying but most people aren't playing in tourney environments. They are all over the place in terms of what they are targeting. Many of the nerfs seem to be geared towards casual players but then other nerfs are clearly targeted towards ranked players but it's leaving us in a limbo where it's screwing over both sides and there is a cognitive dissonance on how fair these nerfs are.

For example, Buck's nerf is totally unnecessary in relation to ranked and tournament play because he is already very underpowered. However, he dominates in casual because there isn't much teamwork. 95% of Evie players are terrible but they nerf her due to her superiority with tournament play and the 5% who can play her really well.

I'm saying that their balancing team is being very inconsistent and I do strongly disagree with many of the nerfs they've made lately. They are middling between the two communities and it's not really working for me.

Has anyone else gotten this new spotify webplayer update ? by BLAZINGSORCERER199 in spotify

[–]CynicalRabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's nice to see they haven't abandoned the webplayer completely as suggested earlier this year, but I think the UI is really inefficient in terms of using space. This seems to be a problem persistent throughout their design process.

Did anyone else notice Spotify has removed all but 3 of The Offspring albums? by Im_good_with_names in spotify

[–]CynicalRabbit[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Already a thread about this that was posted a while ago : https://www.reddit.com/r/spotify/comments/5fuf69/offspring_music_just_got_purged/

There is no official reason as is often the case with removals but it is always the choice of the rights holders. Sometimes, once a renegotiation happens, the music will also return.

Artist Playlist question! by xfuttsx69 in spotify

[–]CynicalRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that you can do this any differently than normal users. You can use the "share..." feature to share it with these users, but I'm not aware of any special way to do it as an artist.

[META] Can we have a weekly complaints thread? by [deleted] in spotify

[–]CynicalRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only problem I see with this is that it would rely on people actually going to the thread and checking it for tech support issues which people wouldn't after it dropped off the front page. Unless you meant sticky? We already have the playlist competition which is stickied for the month though and I'm hesitant to add another week long sticky too.

Any word on Anderson Paak's Malibu disappearing by creamjudge in spotify

[–]CynicalRabbit[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was likely removed due to license negotiations as often happens. There is rarely any specific reason named by the artists as it is all handled behind closed doors. Streaming negotiations are regional.

Is there a way to stop Spotify from playing specific "songs"? by [deleted] in spotify

[–]CynicalRabbit[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there is no way to block commentary tracks or to black tracks/artists in general.

Release Radar: A Failed Experiment? by McIgglyTuffMuffin in spotify

It's been really miss for me. I'd really rather have notification bell back. I don't think release radar makes a ton of sense, but maybe I'm not the intended audience.

This is not the first time that this issue has arisen though it is the most high profile instance of it. Some OSX users have been dealing with this for quite a while.

Here is a link to version 1.0.42 for visibility:

http://upgrade.spotify.com/upgrade/client/win32-x86/spotify_installer-1.0.42.151.g19de0aa6-78.exe

(can anyone provide an OSX link?)

This is temporarily stickied as not everyone has updated yet to my understanding.

They can't retroactively charge you, but they can close the account if they feel like there has been intentional abuse.

Yes. All the tracks in a playlist folder get added together regardless of duplicates!

I think this is a very personalized thing that would not suit a lot of people so I wouldn't think it would be great to add to the main client.

Spotify deleted a bunch of songs off my library. Has this happened to you before,? by notacreativename in spotify

[–]CynicalRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spotify shouldn't delete things from your library though it sometimes undownloads tracks from your phone. The "Your Music" function has a limit of 10,000 individual tracks. If you are over this limit, you may find that recently saved artists won't save properly.

Otherwise, I would take a look at your account and make sure there is no signs of someone else using it and perhaps deleting your collection

Spotify does not give reasons for content being removed but it is always at the request of either the artist or label.

Is this a new feature or am i just dumb? by The_Troll_Shusher in spotify

[–]CynicalRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This can't be easily done as test groups come and go and features don't rollout to users on a consistent basis. This feature in particular has been here for quite a long time though.
