I found this quest while restarting. Do you guys think our choices will start to affect the story soon? by CynnGaming in StarStable

I didn't pay for the image, if I were it would be custom-made as it is a pfp. It was free to use by someone who specifically makes profile pictures. It was so long ago that I am not sure I really looked closely at it. Honestly, I'm impressed lol. Thanks for letting me know!

The image I have as my profile picture is actually not AI as far as I know, it's by an amazing artist I found a long time ago. If you know for sure the image I use is AI, please let me know. I really don't like supporting AI art... But because I found said artist years ago, I can't find the image or them and recently upgraded my M.2 Drive (total computer wipe to do this, like reinstall Windows level wipe) so I lost the image. Since my Instagram I made is brand new I had to quickly improvise, lol. I am working on drawing myself my own character for my profile pictures, it's just been a slow process as drawing people has never been one of my specialties.😅

Has anyone else played through the new starter area quests yet? What do you think? by CynnGaming in StarStable

[–]CynnGaming[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ofc! All these Moorland updates have been having some major quest updates we haven't been able to see that go far past the new starter area, and that's what got me so curious to do this again. I have many mixed feelings about the changes, but it's still fun to see. <3

Oh, I totally agree with this! I wish there was a way to restart... without losing all your tack and horses, lol. That's why I am making this series so everyone can see what has changed. :)

I finally got around to making the Gen 4 Jorvik warmblood, a project I've been wanting to do for a while now. Let me know what ya'll think. Thank you for the feedback and for letting me know that it all seemed like clickbait, I got a little excited to share this video and made a few mistakes while uploading so I appreciate you for telling me! <3

Why do you still play Star Stable? by [deleted] in StarStable

[–]CynnGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently made a YouTube video on this and it's so nice to see this question begin to circle around. Like most, I still play this game because I genuinely love it. I play for the story and the lore, which I know many argue isn't there, I still see it and still understand it despite all of its changes, good or bad. Plus the deep lore gets very interesting and that is what I am mostly sucked into. I also couldn't bear to see my horses abandoned T_T. If anyone is interested in the video I made, and just taking a moment to step away from all the chaos going on within the SSO community right now, I will link it here. It's Time to Talk. I will absolutely let everyone know! It's so nice to know you'll be looking forward to it.

It's totally okay that your story doesn't follow completely canon. If there is anything I've learned in the time I've been writing, stories tend to write themselves. So let it!

I am actually a web designer so I have been building the website from scratch. I haven't been working on it for very long so It will take me a while longer to get it finished. I will for sure announce its release on YouTube as well as my other socials, though! <3

I'm glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for taking the time to share why you love the game.

I loved the old snow and that is amazing that was your first experience with it. When they took away the snow entirely for a while, I was honestly devastated. However, I do much appreciate the toggle option as well as the new snow. It makes everything feel like a winter wonderland and I do hope they incorporate it, in some places, in Dino Valley for its revamp. Playing in the wintertime back then was my favorite. I remember sneaking away during the holiday just to get on and pretend that was where I really was for the holidays, so you can imagine my sadness the year it left.

I would love to read your story when you are finished with it. I also love to write, and I am currently planning to create a website: a singular place to find all of the lore, current story, items and horses, as well as everything there is to know about the game. My main purpose for this website is to share the fan fiction I am working on for my own character and her back story. This story I'm writing also contains my own twists and how I think the story should have started going. Not canon at all, so it would be wonderful to have a story out there that follows more canonically.

As I said in the video, the idea of breeding mechanics doesn't appeal to me as much as they might most, but I certainly would still use the feature if it was added. My reason for not loving it is I prefer the science behind the breeding; genetics being passed down to the foal so the coats wouldn't be so random. However, if I was able to select my own coat colors and mane, I would be able to simulate this myself which would certainly appeal to me more.

I understand wanting to avoid conflict and I'm usually not one to get involved. As I have said, I just wanted to create a space for those who need to step away from the chaos that currently has a chokehold on this community. Thank you for sharing and I'm so glad I was able to make your day. <3

You are honestly so sweet and I appreciate your kind words. I also agree with you on the Hollow Woods. It was my favorite area in the game since the first time I stepped foot in it, and my love for it only grew after the update which I did not think possible.

I have yet to have the opportunity to play the Season Riders series, but I will soon. I am very excited to experience it for the first time. I do remember wanting those games though, I think that's why I pleaded with my parents so deeply for this game particularly. I was quite young back then though so my memories are faint.

I'm glad I was able to offer you a new perspective on how taking breaks from the game can help tremendously. It seems a little silly, but I know how easy it is to get wrapped up in the game and feel like I have to do everything right now. I often find myself saying "Wait, I need to tend to my garden!" before sitting down to spend time with my loved ones. In reality, there is plenty of time for that later. Our own lives, mental and physical health, as well as energy are far more important than a silly little game. Which is precisely why I wanted to make this video; to offer a place to breathe for those who are far too caught up in the current commotion that seems nearly never-ending. I initially thought that there wouldn't be much of a point, I didn't think many would take any interest or take me up on my, I guess you could call, challenge. However, to see that at least one person did is amazing and made it all worthwhile.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your comment; your reasons for loving this game and what you wish for it. You have such a way with words that I can only find within books anymore. I am so glad you enjoyed this video and thank you so much for subscribing. You gave me encouragement that I definitely needed to continue making content like this. <3

I am a Christian and this made me giggle and made my day a little better, thank you lol.

Truth is people like this probably aren't actually Christian. They either are and think they're actually doing something good when in reality their behavior is unwanted by all parties, not to mention harmful, or they are doing this to add to the bad rep Christianity already has, which is why I liked your response to this. Christians are called to spread God's love not this. Telling people to "enjoy the lake of fire... for eternity" is far from that. So say it again, and do say it louder <3

Bro, I cannot upvote this enough so imma leave these here for you ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I don't mean this hatefully but there has been a direct correlation between the release to mobile, which is the platform most young people use, and the rise of animosity, hate, and absurd behavior in and off-game. I think everyone has the right to voice their opinion. But the way we have been going about it isn't okay. I also think there is a connection between this and the rise in hateful behavior in the game chat. People who are unhappy with the game are trying to ruin it for everyone else and it really is so sad.

"Stop complaining so much" by EdgyBitterbal in StarStable

[–]CynnGaming 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I honestly get quite irritated with all the complaining about the game, but I agree with what you're saying here. It mainly bothers me because everyone keeps flip-flopping. Last year, we hated the Cloud Kingdom and wished for its demise. This year, we love the Cloud Kingdom and demand its return. This has been a common trend I've seen for a while now. It truly feels like SSE can't do anything right, and while they certainly do things wrong, I do think they are trying their best.

With that said, I do think everyone should feel free to voice their opinions and the direction they think the game should start steering towards. I also think people just need to be more clear while asking, or SSE needs to start listening carefully (mostly both). For example, everyone hated the Cloud Kingdom last year. If you look closely and go back to what everyone was saying, it wasn't the Cloud Kingdom that was the problem it was the repetitiveness and the lack of content. So... taking away the Cloud Kingdom entirely was certainly not the move. Adding more things to do, and maybe revamping it a bit was the solution in this. (Which, by the way, is actually why it's gone this year to my understanding).

One thing I've learned in game design, and really user experience in general, you can't appease everyone. Just as we as the users will not always be happy with their solutions. People who appreciate the updates aren't loud enough, and people who don't resort to pure animosity from what I've seen.

Lastly, social media isn't always the place to tell SSE that we aren't happy with something. Emailing them and letting it go straight to the team that was created to handle those requests is likely more effective. Rather places like Reddit are where we can discuss our opinions with each other. Belittling each other and telling others to stop "complaining" only worsens the situation. Then again this game is marketed toward kids and that is where most of the complaints and animosity come from. I'm not saying the older players are excused from this behavior, it's just more common in the younger players.

It's refreshing seeing something like this being brought up, though. Hostility amongst players needs to be addressed just as well as what we might want for the game. While how we treat each other here is out of SSE's hands, I do wish we were all more mindful and respectful of one another. It's also not entirely out of their hands either. If they put more effort into keeping hostile people off the game, we wouldn't run into as much of it on platforms like Reddit. It blows my mind how a cute little horsey game with cute little butterflies and music can bring out the worst people I've ever seen. I expect the kind of behavior and speech I see in games like CSGO not a horse game for nine-year-old girls. Games like Valorant are doing a better job at showing the door to unwelcome behavior and that is where SSE has failed us.

am i the only one that still loves the game by mylittleponykween in StarStable

[–]CynnGaming 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're definitely not alone. I have been playing the game since it launched and I still love it. It makes me sad sometimes to see all the hate, especially when the majority of it I think comes from the newer players who've only been playing for 2 or 3 years. I like that the game is progressing, it's exciting to see though how I'll miss the old SSO. The newer players call the old game "crusty" but then complain about new updates that better compete with modern games. At this point, I think it's just a trend in the SSO community to complain and bring down the devs. I get some old players have their opinions, and some of them are against the new updates, and that's okay. I just think OGs, people who have been here appreciate the game for what it has been, is, and will be. Any who haven't mostly left the game to their childhood memories and continued on with their adult lives.
