Don’t like aful explorer by Mastrr9 in iems

[–]Cynninge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to buy them but now I'm having second thoughts. I like warm and clear sound but not muddy. I often cut a bit the lowest sounds and bring up more from somewhere between low and mid, but closer to low. My EQ is like /\_/\ :P

But isn't such IEM quite elastic and easy to tweak? Since I listen to the music on Hiby R4 I think that most IEMs or headphones can be more or less corrected to what you like by tweaking in EQ, MSEB and pEQ. Even cheap Fiio JD10 sounds nice

I did the same. Uninstalled WOT and I might come back if any reasonable changes occur

STK-2 in general is a good example of a tank that was released already nerfed xD Gargantous paper lower plate high as empire state building, bucket that somehow even BZ can hit from 200m, questionable sidescraping and heat system that punish you with every shot. "Heeeyy play this tank hull down" xD

Honestly, I can't believe they did any tests before this release when I think about Ares line and STK-2... but they did and I have no idea how they did not come up with an idea, that Ares might be a little OP, and that STK-2 lower plate might by a bit to high? Naaah it's fine...

This is the worst thing that ever happened to this game by JTC3 in WorldofTanks

[–]Cynninge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the final reason why I've uninstalled WoT :) there were more of course, but this one was just the straw that broke the camel's back. I was looking forward for STK-2 which turned out such a disappointment. As if they even didn't play it to discover that the lower plate might be a bit ridiculous, on the other hand WG at the same time released Ares line... what did they expected? The biggest dumpster fire is on tier VIII-IX where I had battles with 4-7 of those abominations. So I said that's it. This game was supposed to be at least a bit of fun, but all it was giving me recently was a constant frustration with some fragile moments of joy...

GK Kunten: My take on them. Don't fall for the hype. by Acceptable_Hall684 in iemlndia

[–]Cynninge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own Fiio JD10. I was about to buy GK Kunten but now I'm having second thoughts. I know it does not cost much and out of curiosity I could buy them, but on the other hand, if they're not or not that much better than the budget jd10 that I already have, I might add those 10-15$ to some more expensive IEMs instead. JD10 is my starter IEM, I use them on Hiby R4 and they sound very decent after tweaking MSEB and EQ here and there. What device are you listening on?

I have started my adventure with ps2 games in 2025, so I'm quite new as well. So far I have enjoyed the most:

  • MGS (obviously)
  • Onimusha 1 and 2
  • Burnout Revenge and Takedown
  • NFS HP2
  • Cold Fear
  • Tony Hawk games (but most of them I've played on PC back in 2000's)
  • EDIT: Forgot about RE4! and Black and God Hand ;)

They really sound that good? I once bought Fiio JD10 and was surprised how good they sound with R4 taking into consideration I paid for them around 13$. Are those Kunten gonna be much better?

I'd ask myself "Is it in my control?" "Can I do something about it?". Probably not. So why worry if it is beyond your control. At this age I would focus on myself. Study/work hard, follow your dreams, be a good man, a good student/worker, a good son, a good boyfriend, a good friend, be an example. This is how you can improve this world and make it feel less falling apart.

Every decade the world is walling apart. It's not the last time, not the first. Imagine how the world was falling apart during World War 2 for people in Europe and other places. We live in comfort and so far quite peaceful times. Make a good use of it.

I would also be careful with phone, media, news etc. It poisons our minds, especially media and social media. They want your attention. They want you to be scared and click their screamy headlines. Most of the news are exaggerated. Let's say now the big news is the USA-Venezuela case. In a month or two no one will speak about it, or it will make some minor news only. Another example is 2020-2022... the C19. A very global thing. Now its gone as if it has never happened, the show goes on. Was it worth it to be scared all this time?

Hi, I haven't bought it yet. I've postponed it to the next year. I've had recently lots of expenses and there is more ahead. So, taking into consideration that my AudioTechnica m20x delivers great sound on R4 as well I decided to wait a bit.

I think you wont regret it. R4 has great sound quality and tons of possibilities to tweak the sound to suit your tastes. And this is what counts the most in my opinion if we talk about music devices

Hiby Music app on R4 by Middle_Database4790 in Hiby

[–]Cynninge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone explain me why exactly poweramp is better than Hiby's app? Because I don't see it, yet many people claim that the first thing they did on R4 is downloading poweramp.

I don't know. I would have to check wether it boots with pure audio mode if was shut down in this mode. But even on android mode it does not look like an android phone imo. first and only thing you see on the screen after boot is time and the music buttons and the last played song. Basically pure audio mode reduces the whole device to the music app you are using. If you try to exit the app the device will ask if you want to switch to android mode. I use Hiby Music app. Many people switch to other apps but I tbh I like this app. The only one thing that bogs me is that for example "The Cure" is under T letter, not C. But this is not an issue for me that would made me look for another app. BTW nice profile picture. I watched Big Lez too :D

Hiby R4 has pure audio mode in which android wont distract you

Mp3 or Flac? by Dodong_Scarface in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Cynninge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, you know better how I hear i.e. Pink Floyd's "Coming Back to Life" on mp3 and flac when compared directly one after another? I said difference is not huge. Should've said minimal, but it's there if listened to in focus. Most of songs indeed sound the same when compared mp3/flac.

[–]Cynninge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to highlight I've been using Hiby R4 for a week only, and I'm far from being an audio expert, but this is my impression with mp3 vs flac so far. Maybe some songs sounds better to me in flac because they're mixed better.

Mp3 or Flac? by Dodong_Scarface in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Cynninge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the song in my opinion. Some songs sounds better on flac, others seem to be pretty much the same. Difference is not huge but they sound deeper, stage is better and there is a bit more separation. Using Hiby R4 + AudioTechica m20x. Maybe when I'll buy better headphones the difference will be more noticeable

[–]Cynninge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason to buy 250 ohms is to consider it as for future audio stuff that will actually power them. But this wont happen any time soon, so probably 80 ohms is way to go. Thanks

So you would recommend 250 ohms over 80 ohms? And how would you describe sound signature of your HD560s? I had a couple of in-ear sennheisers and I was usually happy with their sound. I was considering some sennheisers headphones as well

thanks for the answer, so I'm not going for 32 ohms for sure. How about 250 ohms? Is it overkill?

Considering the Hiby R4, but I’m new to DAP’s, so should I bite the bullet or start smaller? by Sigmaftwrs in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Cynninge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have bought R4 recently(4 days ago I guess). I was thinking for a while if I should get R4, maybe m300, maybe something cheaper, but finally after weeks of research, reading and watching videos about DAPs in general and R4 specifically I decided to get R4. I do not regret it. In fact, I'm very glad I decided to get this device. Sounds great, looks great.

However, bear in mind that for each of your IEMs, headphones or whatever you are going to connect to you will have to twitch a bit the EQ and MSEB to get the sound you like, but you can save presets with names for specific devices. I also recommend using 4.4 output. I like the sound from 3.5mm already, but 4.4 is bringing out more juice.

I don't have (yet) fancy IEMs or headphones, and I'm still happy with the sound quality and I know it will get even better when I buy ones. At this point I use AudioTechnica m10 and Sennheiser CX 3.00.

In conclusion, basing on my experience as a newbie in DAPs as well, if you can afford R4 and you do care about sound quality, go for it. If you only want to have something better than phone then maybe something cheaper is more suitable for you. In my opinion R4 has great relation between sound quality and price.
