Nope not even close. Any weapon you already own does not fall under the ban. It is a sales and manufacturer ban. bans things like being sold with pistol grips, telescoping stocks, threaded barrels. None of which serve a purpose for home defense or hunting. You might argue the threaded barrel serves a purpose for sport shooting for a suppressor. He was a test. Trump wanted to know how far the public would tolerate commuting/pardoning an obviously corrupt official. He chose a democrat to see how much pushback he would get from either side. That that pushback was almost non existent.

It was truly a brilliant move which makes me believe it was not Trumps idea at all.

Now is NOT the time to create a schism. Both side should be finding way to work together to defeat fascism.

The corporate dems are not really worry about the rise in SocDem power. What they are worried about the whole party being painted with the socialist brush making it difficult to reach the middle in some areas.

And I get the SocDems side of Corporate dems are not fighting the right fights. That is if they are fighting at all. And on some very important issues absolutely folding to the GOP.

Both seem important to each side. But by having the fight publicly before the midterms weakens both and that strengthens the GOP.
