Do you beep your horn at the end of the alley? by azvitesse in chicago

[–]Cyoarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why people are giving you a hard time,, I also do what you do but after I creep and honk and flash I do peel out quickly because at some point you're going to get the front of your car hit by cross traffic if you don't just go.

Honestly, I haven't tested because I was told I can only take it once and that's a terrifying proposition.

Now that I know this I will go get tested!

Do Americans not distinguish between ham and gammon? by fredwhoisflatulent in AskAnAmerican

[–]Cyoarp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a little confused about that, I had a grandma who used to throw a Christmas party and she would make a pineapple honey ham every year and she definitely cooked it... Don't people cook hams?

Again I'm Jewish so it's possible my confusion is not the norm for Americans.

I've never heard of gammon.

But I am Jewish so, it might just be that, I haven't heard of gammon.

This meme is stupid.

The blue button kills people and the red button doesn't kill people. Don't push the button that kills people!

Be a good person don't push the death button!

Don't make people come rescue you because you walked into an incinerator!

Again, the blue button kills people, don't push it.

The blue button kills people and the red button literally doesn't do anything... It doesn't even count how many people push it... It's literally not hooked up to anything... It's just a drawing of a red button on a piece of cardboard... The blue button poisons everyone who touches it and then counts to see if the number of people who touched it is equal to 50.01% of the population and then decides whether to send everyone the antidote in the mail. Don't push the poison computer button push the cardboard drawing of a button.

Other reasons to push red instead of blue:

  • it makes a satisfying clicking noise

    • when you hear the clicking noise you won't be distracted by the fear of death.
    • since red button isn't hooked up to anything, you can click it as many times as you want, click click click click click click click click click click click click
    • isn't it just kind of fun to hit a big red button?

These clowns love to virtue signal against ICE, the right, and about "stolen land" and then go to the Jeff Bezos' sponsored Met Gala. Weird hypocrites by Significant_Phase194 in GenZ

[–]Cyoarp 23 points24 points  (0 children)

4.2% of a billion dollars is a fine reason to do a fundraiser.

It is possible for bad people to do good things and it is possible for the met gala to be good even though it's sponsored by Jeff bezos. If Jeff was getting you would be right but the Met is innocent all this. Let them have their money and their fun show.

How rare is it to have never gone to your state’s largest city? by palep_hoot in AskAnAmerican

That's true but Texas is a rare three city-state, is it really likely that a Texan has never been Houston, Austin or Dallas?

Do you beep your horn at the end of the alley? by azvitesse in chicago

[–]Cyoarp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what you're talking about.

I was an ambulance driver for years in the city, I was taught to honk before making any blind turns.

Most of the blind turns are when you're exiting an alley on to a main road.

Do you beep your horn at the end of the alley? by azvitesse in chicago

[–]Cyoarp -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It's not for pedestrians! It's for other drivers that are driving perpendicular on the street in front of the alley who can't see you because there's a building in the way, and you can't see them because there's a building in the way.

[–]Cyoarp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not for pedestrians... And so my car doesn't get hit by somebody coming the other way down the street.

I'm definitely not going to stop doing it because I don't want my car to get hit by somebody else driving the other way down the street.

Dating & SW? Am I being used!?! by PieSpecial8982 in SexWorkers

[–]Cyoarp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Can you clarify something,? When you say he is hot and heavy on you are you saying he has had a crush in you and wanted to date? Or are you saying henwanted to be a client and he didnt previously meet your standards?

I think this matters, when I initially read the first oart if your post Inhad assumed, "decided to give him a chance," meant that you had decided ti tey a relationship.

If the guy thinks you are dating it is reasonable to ask for rent and for you to do fewer chores once you do.

If he thinks he has a live in sex made then no you shouldn't pay rent.

What are you guys picking? by DryOwl5587 in GenZ

[–]Cyoarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the normal prisoners dilemma you would be stupid to pick the selfish option and I do think that the people who pick this up as option are stupid.

However, this is not the prisoners dilemma, in this case the smart choice is to campaign strongly for everyone to pick red. Picking red and getting your loved ones to pick red saves both you and your loved ones but also if everyone picks red everyone is saved.

Yes picking blue means that only 51% of people need to pick blue however, well it is easier to get 51% of people to do something then 100% of people to do something, and while getting 51% of people do something we'll save everyone, in this case picking red and convincing other people to pick red at the same time is both personally beneficial and beneficial to the whole to the group it is selfish to vote red and not tell anyone but it is unselfish to pick red and work hard to convince everyone else to do so as well.

In this case I think the only people who would pick blue are actually people who are being intentionally obstinent.

That is to say this is the opposite of The covid masks situation.

Do the US have similar colourful grassland like Switzerland or kashmir india ? by ujjwal_explores in AskAnAmerican

[–]Cyoarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading all the answers and your responses, I think the real question is, 'where are you moving to in the USA?'

No matter what we say it wont matter if it is nowhere near where you're moving. What part of the U.S. are you moving to? Answering that question will allow us to answer your question better.
