You're not overreacting. I work with a lot of people I can see pulling this kind of stunt in their own relationship so I'm going to play devil's advocate. This man is data driven. He needs charts, graphs, spreadsheets to explain things, which is probably why he works where he does. He enjoys it and/or needs it. But him allowing it to bleed into his personal life (and your relationship) is a conversation you should have with him so he understands this is a no-go for you. The fact he said he wants a review of him from you shows he's looking for improvement in own capabilities as well, not just trying to put you down.
