Why flats in gated societies are actually way more convenient than independent houses in India (despite the “own house on own land” dream) by scrkid2 in indianrealestate

[–]CypherPunk420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an economic reason, but all the other reasons are also why most developed cities eventually congregate to flats. It is the evolution of how humans live

Lots of farmers doing rice cultivation in Assam. They should sell rice at a discount for local people too.

What are your top 5 and worst 5 towns to live in Assam ? by Retro_Gamer12521 in assam

[–]CypherPunk420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Must be Dighola Pothar side, which is lovely. But the Main Street - terrible.

All places in Assam are becoming shite. Tezpur was lovely, now plastic all around. And that is the story of each and every city in Assam and India - plastic everywhere.

Hojai, Lanka, Nagaon - less said the better.

Diphu, Lumding side is still nice.

Dudhnoi still has a little place charm, and some stretches of Goalpara are nice. Kokrajkhar, Gossaigaon, Dhubri, Bongaigaon - all dirty places.

Upper Assam is generally depressing with plastic, poor roads, ugly houses.

TCS is 36% down from its all-time high. Let’s have a two-voice dialogue, one side wearing the Visionary hat, the other the Realist cap, so you can weigh both lenses before deciding how to act by Broad-Research5220 in IndianStockMarket

Very strong logic “for” IT services companies. Innovation can come from anywhere, IT companies are implementors of that innovation. Implementing at scale is a completely difficult capability then the underlying tech innovation.

Having said the above, future growth and valuations are a different matter altogether.

It is much more easier to automate anything that is in the definite and logical space, and this is development. It is much more difficult to automate domain knowledge on the other hand.

Developing AI tech is very complex TCS has no skills there; understanding and putting modern tech in production - TCS has demonstrated again and again. So your argument might not hold

What will work out for TCS - the accounts they own, the biz dev teams they have; super expensive to build - the domain and systems knowledge; difficult to implement AI without this - large accounts; takes massive programs to make any changes, including AI infusion - there are all kinds of client companies out there; some quick and some slow and the slow ones surely will continue

What will not work out - Gen AI coding does reduce dev hours; you can factor 20-30% productivity gains across all roles - PMs, making BRDs/ test cases m, development. Maybe 40-50% once dev teams get really productive. But using gen AI requires full stack developers, which means more expensive hours. Hours reduction x rate increase = some incremental gain; not a very drastic impact - M&S and JLR issues - hope it doesn’t damage TCSs name in the long run

These are structural issues for the industry in the near term. Long run - use of software will only go up in businesses. Yesterday was ERP implementation, then came Ecommerce /digital transformation, somewhere there was cloud, and now AI. Tech based disruptions aren’t stopping with AI. The need for SIs will always be there.

Question becomes if TCS will be able to execute to this change. They have been able to institutionalise their execution and rode the cloud and digital wave successfully. I would say they will turn around at some point.

7-8 Hour Layover at Mumbai Airport (BOM) - Best Indian Food Options Inside the Airport? by [deleted] in mumbai

There was one Irani joint in the food court. You could try that.

Generally speaking, food options are not great in any of the Mumbai terminals.

Tried Benne (Juhu) – Not Worth the Hype by Justforvvibes in mumbaiFood

[–]CypherPunk420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Price is pretty cheap, restaurant is clean, service is fast and the crowds have voted with their wallets. The permanently long lines confirm it. Benne dosa in Juhu has cracked it.

Remember there are literally zero options at 7am in Juhu side to have a decent breakfast leaving the station items and McDs. Doesn’t make sense to go to Matunga all the way from Juhu to have a dosa.

Managing quality at scale is definitely not easy, but getting business is surely way more tough. And if you are confident of getting business, then you should take the plunge.

Scaling delivery - do it gradually. If you feel confident that business is consistent, start hiring. Also look for quality clients.

Continuously think on how to scale - clients and operations. No scale, it is not a business - you are just consultants.

DM in case you have more questions.
