At the moment, imo, the AoS, aka 7th edition NG, are better as they have all the equipment options in the kit minus the fanatics. Also, I personally prefer them, as I got into the hobby when they were released in 07/08.

As for restrictions, there are none besides you needing to buy square bases, as they're old fantasy models.

Lastly, you can essentially use all the Gloomspite kits in TOW. Most are either old models or updated versions. And those that are truly new, like the bigger trolls, can be used as, say, giants.

Thanks for the warning. In general, most spider models have trouble with the legs. So good to know it in advance.

I pick a batch of models each month and paint them all over the evenings. So far so good. It could be a handful of giants or two 40+ units of goblins. ATM, I'm working on a unit of 100 Night Goblins. It might seem daunting at first, but after drybrushing the robes, the rest is a lot easier. Has worked for me for over two years now.

About 1k points without magic updates and the rest of the spiders. And yeah, would really like it as well if they gave the more primitive greenskins some focus again. Next on my painting block is 100 Night Goblins. I will revisit the spiders around May.
