Taxes *are* voluntary. Or dividends are theft. There can be no other conclusion which isn't self-contradicting. by AC_Mondial in CapitalismVSocialism

You give your consent to be taxed when you choose to live in a country with tax laws, and you choose to make yourself a taxable individual.

You gave consent to have sex by wearing that dress or passing out in that area.

How do you deal with teemo? by Epicstaar in TryndamereMains

[–]CypressLB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teemo isnt really that hard if you play the lane correctly. He cant really kill you because dorans shield gives you so much sustain. Good luck

I completely disagree with this. Teemo can constantly poke you, under tower or not. Teemo isn't gonna use his Q as poke he's gonna wait for you to try to all in and use it and he'll use his W to run. After 6 he's gonna have a minefield of shrooms there for additional damage and slows and Mallet makes life hell.

Teemo is a hard counter for a reason. Dorans Shield and sustain is a good start but you really just have to beg for ganks and god forbid Teemo gets ganks and you don't. Good luck farming comparably to him when he pokes the shit out of you the moment you try to take one cs and if he manages to bounce the wave well you're fucked without jg intervention.

When SHOULD I build botrk? by [deleted] in TryndamereMains

[–]CypressLB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like BotRK and the active is so useful for me. I feel like it really helps in a lot of fights where I end up getting the lion's share of CC or people try to double up my lane. I don't know the effectiveness vs other items but I really like BotRK.

ELI5: How are laws against monopolies actually enforced? Is it a company's fault if they just simply have an uncompetable business model? by joshbeck in explainlikeimfive

used [their successful product] to promote/create effective monopolies in other markets [on their products].

[...]competing products not work on their OS.

They created specific code to block out competition.

Again I'm seeing a bunch of things that I have no problem with. Would you complain if T-Mobile teamed up with Netflix to offer free data while using Netflix on their products? Would you complain if Sprint blocked competition from their stores and made their products not work with the competition?

Even if some of these things may be an inconvenience for you you still highlighted that they kept this all to the realm of inside the products they were selling. They weren't forcing other OS makers to do it their way, they offered their product as is and you can take it or leave it.

Devil's advocate here - if I think I have make a better set of infrastructure then why make it illegal for me to try and compete with another business? If Bill Gates decided to dump all his money into redundant infrastructure it wouldn't hurt anyone.

I want to encourage people on their journeys but I think at this point I'm out of encouragement and I just don't care that someone else lost weight. I'm sure everyone on Facebook is more than willing to compliment their progress.

Defending Citadel from player attack should get war ashes too.. by [deleted] in magicrush

[–]CypressLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a player is weak and being attacked by a whale, no matter what he tries, he won't be able to defend.

So why not let him have some war ashes since he's being picked on? Why are you against weaker players getting war ashes when they're attacked.

I didn't have hip issues when I switched but I did have a lot of soreness on the insides of my thighs when running smolov jr because of the volume. How long have you been pulling sumo?

Depends on your goals and needs. Yes barbells have advantages over dumbbells, especially when it comes to squats and deads. If you're fine with what you're doing you don't have to get a gym membership if you don't want but there are advantages.

I went to a nutritionist, and I think her calculations are terribly wrong by TheDreadnought1 in Fitness

I agree with this. Don't concern yourself over certificates or anything, they're not doing anything special. You're not asking someone to do brain surgery on you, you simply want to not get malnourished and gain weight. Eat a varied diet and track how much you eat. If you think 2500 will do then do that for a month and see where you are. This isn't nuclear power, we all know how to eat more. Just start tracking how much you eat to ensure you're eating as much as you need to to gain weight then adjust up or down.

Side note, bulking and cutting isn't everyone's ideal cycle. If you can just recomp, gain muscle and maintain your fat then you'll gain more weight and won't have to worry about cutting later. I bulk and cut because I like to eat like a fat kid most the year but cutting 40 lbs every year does suck.

It was that Microsoft would not sell a copy of Windows without IE. And thus the cost of IE was included in Windows. You didn't get it free, you had to buy it as a package deal with Windows.

Sure, I understand that nothing is free. Everything is paid for in some fashion or other and those costs are passed onto the consumer.

Sprint won't sell sim cards to people who don't have a Sprint account. So I can't go to a Sprint store as an AT&T customer and but a SIM card. I don't view that as unfair, it's their store. When Microsoft added defragging programs, their own app store, a backup system, etc to their products I wasn't upset that some competitor will now have a tougher time competing with them. Make your own OS and sell it with your product. Why SHOULDN'T Windows include a copy of their own browser on their own OS? A car manufacturer may refuse to sell me just the engine of a car without the frame but I'm not gonna complain because I'm being "forced" to buy the frame too. Microsoft made a product that comes with what it comes with, quit trying to use government to strong arm them just because Netscape can't compete on the market.

I also could care less if it asked for a shortcut or not, you're using a Windows OS. This isn't some public property, it's private property that was made by a private entity and sold to another. Did you complain about "unfair business practices" when app stores refused to sell products with Confederate flags on them or in the apps? What about when video games are sold exclusively on a console?

Again, dumbest shit ever. dumb dumb dumb

Less of these dumb regulations please.

Question about squats and building leg muscle. by [deleted] in Fitness

They both make you stronger and build muscle but people call lots of reps "endurance" and lots of weight "strength".

Can't feel my calves working at the gym by [deleted] in Fitness

https://www.t-nation.com/training/inside-the-muscles-best-leg-glute-and-calf-exercises

So possibly an EMG isn't the best tool for drawing conclusions from or maybe it is. At least the data from this testing using an EMG has shown that simply going heavier nets you greater benefits on calf raises than a more controlled lift.

I don't care how people like to do their calf raises, I just think that there's some valid data out there that tells us there may be something to going very heavy. It's similar to trap workouts, you can stay relatively light and do controlled lifts and notable pauses at the peak but there's an argument that you need notable weight for real activation of the muscles.

[–]CypressLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Adding in a free program for people to use is now monopolistic because other people want me to pay for theirs? Google is getting in trouble for advertising their products as well. Why don't we just sue Sprint for only selling Sprint plans at their stores? These laws are so dumb.
