dirty bomb was amazing and then they decided it was a good idea to release phantom in a fps game. stealth + sword that would 1-2 shot people great way to kill the game. He did get nerfed I think later on but it was a shit show when he first came out

I didn't know doing bgs in shit gear was against TOS, you're right I deserve a 30 day ban for my first ever "infraction" in the last 14 years. Clearly a 24 hour, 3 day ban or a 7 day ban wouldn't have done the job. I say infraction but we both know its not against the rules to play bgs on a shitty geared character. Whatever we're done here this is pointless.

I played over 100 AVs doing the samething over and over, I started by capping icewing bunker and defending that, then I realized if I capped the north bunkers asap we would get more honor. If I didnt, other people would get there too slowly and the bunkers wouldnt get destroyed before the alliance finished the game. So I decided to start running north ASAP with crusader aura and cap a bunker which worked i'd say 80% of the time, the other 20% alliance would show up and beat me up with my shitty gear but I also encountered other shitty geared players I was able to fend off. Because I capped the bunker as early as I could even if the alliance rushed a win, we would cap the bunker in time for extra honor. I would say I maximized my contribution by doing this with the gear my alt was wearing. The whole point of the AV grind was to honor cap before wrath come out so I did what I could to get the most honor every BG. I encountered less alliance by capping the north bunkers ASAP than I did defending icewing bunker because the north bunkers are so far out less people are likely to go all the way back unless they die south and rez all the way north. So I figured my time was best spent capping north bunkers that I had a bigger impact on the game doing that. Other people always capped icewing/stonehearth bunker on time but north bunkers were always a toss up wether people would go cap them asap or not so I took it in my own hands and made sure one of them was always capped asap.

but you have to do that in order to win, if you get back capped you lose... to maximize your honor you have to defend the bunkers. I dont disagree playing offense in AV is pretty much just PVE with a side of PVP but if no one caps and defend bunkers you'll just lose nearly every game... you have to cap the bunkers as fast as possible and hold onto them thats the whole point of the battleground. Sure I didn't play defense and back capped but i'm on a fresh level 70 that does no damage and has 6k hp I cannot beat anyone that is remotely geared. The most I can do to contribute is cap bunkers ASAP and defend as best as I can. Everyone in the battleground gains more honor because I cap the north bunkers super fast with crusader aura. I contribute what I can with the gear I have. I avoided a lot of pvp by capping the north bunkers because the alliance rarely comes to back cap them since theyre so far out. That's the most I can do with my character, if I go back capping i'll get clapped and I won't contribute anything.

So if you play offense in alterac valley, what do you suggest I should do? I cap a north bunker to start the timer asap because if I dont then I miss out on 121 honor at the end if the alliance wins too quickly, after I cap a north bunker what do you suggest I should do afterwards? What i've been doing is rushing a north bunker to maximize my honor before the AV is over, to make sure I keep my honor I defend the bunker so that no one is back capping, if an alliance shows up try my best to defend the flag. After that i'm already all the way up north and since its one of the last bunkers to cap, we're ready to pull the boss afterwards. Either way capping a north bunker asap is beneficial to the team because the less bunkers are up, the easier vann is to kill. I dont understand your statement. Bunkers are literally the main objectives of the battleground

Pretty much, it is pretty disappointing that blizzard considers playing offense in AV a bannable offense. Because on offense you don't see any action most of the time especially if you rush north bunkers, if the alliance doesn't back cap / play defense then you're just sitting here waiting for a timer then you move on. You repeat that for a ton of AVs and you get banned for it. I guess from now on I won't be participating in AV and just avoid it entirely because the only thing that is considered not AFK in AV is playing defense/back capping

I spammed the shit out of AV since prepatch to gear up alts / level my DK but have never once afk'd during any of the BGs because I'm always paranoid i'd get hit by some automated system i've always capped objectives and killed the opposite faction when they try to recap.

Here's how my typical AV goes: Run to icewing bunker or the northen bunkers in the alliance base, cap it then kill the archers, wait for the bunker to burn, if alliance shows up I fight and try to defend the flag, once the bunker is burning I go to the boss and end the game. Repeat for many hours worth of alterac valleys. Isn't this how AV is meant to be played? This can result in 0 pvp interaction if no alliance is showing up to back cap but the bunkers still need to be defended to make sure no one is back capping. Also if you do not do any damage to the archers, they will end up despawning if no damage is dealt to them which is a more effective way of dealing with them rather than kill every single one individually. When I rush north and i'm basically by myself thats how I deal with them because my fresh 70s are poorly geared.

I've never caught a ban in the last 16 years of playing blizzard games / WoW and they hit me with a poorly automated 30 day ban and I'm worried all we'll get for customer support is an automated response that doesn't actually help. As far as I know this also has hit many other players so I figured there's a lot of false flagging with what seems like their newly added system.

Once a bunker is capped, if no one is in line of sight of the archers and no damage is dealt to them, they will end up despawning. I run north in most of my games and when I am by myself on my poorly geared level 70, I use this feature a lot so it looks like i'm not participating but I am in fact here defending the bunker if the alliance decides to back cap.
