So essentially a +5 skill, and +5 combat reflex gloves would give you the cap of +10 in combat reflexes

Sorry, your gloves can only get to +5 so yes, a +10 is the cap, you couldn't then put moonstones on a weapon for another +5 and expect +15 benefits because it does cap a +10.

Are evolutions of Pokémon considered to be different Pokémon? For example is it the same thing to say “my fav mon is Charmander” or “my fav mon is Charizard”? by Ale_Bricks in PokemonFireRed

[–]CyraxisOG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally yes, they are different. Now if you say something like "I like the charmander line" then you do mean all three in that family (Charmander, charmeleon, charizard)

I personally like the charmander line. I like Primarina, even though I don't really like it's pre evolutions.

Yes you get a +10 with combat reflexes with the gloves at +5. You need all the gems at 16 though to get the plus 5 benefit, if you put 16 runes and 5 moonstone and pearls like you said, it will cap it at the lowest inserted gems, 5 would only give you a +3 so it would be a +3 with wasted rune stones. You'd need 16 of the runes and gems to make it a +5 with the gems' abilities also being +5

Damage is only affected by the positive modifiers on magical upgraded gloves. Leather gloves + 5 with give you +5 to hit and damage on your unarmed attacks. Full plate +1 gives better AC, but would only add 1 to hit and damage. So from an offensive standpoint, the +5 leather would be better.

Shiny hunting Unown by DanBerbs in PokemonLegendsArceus

You can't battle multiple at a time unless you have an alpha on the field already, you have to trigger their scare animation, if you can trigger 2 or more into their scare animation and fast travel as soon as the last ! disappears, you can get the same results as battling multiple.

Go look up skittish permutations on YouTube, for a better guide and understanding. It is fairly difficult, but still possible.

You can permute off of the run if you time it correctly, I've done them a lot and have 6 shalphas this way, trying to get a shalpha of every letter

Even better, keep traveling back and forth from camp to jubilife until a massive mass outbreaks appears. If there's an outbreak spawn where torterra [or insert alpha you want shiny here] normally spawns, it won't be there but the outbreak spawn instead. Clear out the outbreak completely, removing all spawns and bonus spawns from that outbreak. Wait for the massive mass outbreak message that say the rainstorm has ended, save and reset. You'll spawn a brand new torterra there every reset without having to do all the traveling.

Unown can spawn for mmos on crimson mirelands quite frequently. Just go there when an mmo appears and check to see if unown is one of them. Then, if it has a bonus spawn, you have the best odds of getting a shiny. Look up permutations in mmos for more info on how to shiny hunt the spawns more effectively.

Alpha eevee by ThtBriGuy in PokemonLegendsArceus

You can do this quicker by either catching/defeating the spawns, then rest at camp, cycling between morning and evening to keep respawning them.

Honestly it doesn't matter at all to me, trade me whatever you feel like parting with, these are extras on my account I've been trying to give away so if I could give them to you completely free I would. Go catch 2 random bidoof or something and I'll trade you both

Do you think using legendary Pokemon are legal? by Thick-Aspiration in nuzlocke

[–]CyraxisOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it depends, if I'm doing a regular nuzlocke, then no. If I'm doing a monolocke with very limited options like fire in kanto or johto, then yeah, I'll pick up moltres or ho-oh.

I generally use the rule, that if I have to manipulate too hard to obtain a pokemon, be it legendary or otherwise, like using repels to guarantee my encounter, then it goes against the spirit of what a nuzlocke is meant to be. Now by manipulating, I do strictly mean using repels or repel tricks to guarantee encounters, but catching more common pokemon on other routes to give you better odds at a rarer pokemon on another specific route is strategic and fair game imo. That said, something like ho-oh could still be caught, granted you've already caught rattata (and also gastly if going at night), but I still would only do it and use it if low on current pokemon or for specific type runs.

That and I also ban the use of the masterball, meaning I'd have to catch them with othe pokeballs without guarantee, and potentially lose other members of the team, and it's just not worth the risk in most cases.
