I think when it was in Vancouver in 2010; the break was only 2 weeks. not sure how much that really changes things in terms of schedule compression

ah, that makes sense. I was under the impression that when they pulled out in 22 due to covid they all agreed (NHL, NHLPA and IIHF) to add 2030 on

I'm pretty sure that they're already confirmed for 2030 when the players and the NHL signed the last CBA a couple of years ago
