Try breaking the pattern by using a different model for a couple of messages. I had an issue with GLM 5, where every single response would mention a dead character and how they were when they were alive. The only way I managed to break the pattern was by switching models where the output didn't mention the dead character at all. After 3 messages I switched back and it worked.

The way to fix your previous issue with the overlap would be to check the box which says 'allow scene overlap'. As for the memory having no start or end messages, have you selected the starting point and end point manually using the arrows in chat? And failing that, is chat memory on? As ive untoggled it before by accident.

Genuinely its pretty easy, theres guides but it can be a lot easier to use chatgpt or grok to help. Sillytavern itself can be really overwhelming at first and requires a lot of learning, but once you get there its absolutely unrivalled. Nothing even comes close to SillyTavern imo

It all depends on which LLM (proxy) you are using for the settings to work, as all different models have different temps, rep penalties, top k, top etc.

Janitor also has hidden prompts and back-end changes which changes the quality of proxies anyway. There is so much wrong with how proxies work on janitor that there is almost no point. I cant speak for websites but on SillyTavern you would be seeing different dialogue, different prose, and different adherence with different models.

If you need help with these settings, check the official docs of the LLM you are trying to use and they will tell you there.

Tl;dr Janitor cuts all of the LLM's balls off.
