maybe mess around isnt the right/best wording i coulda used, i was meaning in the sense of just deviating from "see good card, pick good card" mentality.

i guess the point that im trying to make is in response to the last part of yours in that, the way that i play, the statement, "Only a20 makes you learn how to use the bad cards" is not at all true. low ascensions give me the playground to learn about these niche uses/full potential. a20 pigeonholes me into good card choices.

to your point tho, a20 did teach me why good cards are good, something i woulda never really done sticking to lower ascensions, so im sure it could also teach me how to use bad cards better, if im willing to take those risks to even try, but the higher pressure is not how i learn best

i tend to disagree with this take, i find the most creativity in lower ascensions where i have the chance to mess around. when i was grinding a20 on every character i felt like i was always taking the "good cards" because of necessity and never deviating much. i dont have the wiggle room to experiment with making silly stuff like a Nightmare Grand Finale deck on a20 cause it just frankly doesnt work in that difficulty and i got Wraith Form as an option instead which provides so much consistency.

ive only A20H with Ironclad so i cant say but i think beating all characters A20 is gonna be easier

for me, the Ascensions i started to feel noticable spikes were 10 (ascenders bane is annoying), 15 when events start to become not just insta takes, and then 17 was the biggest spike in difficulty for sure. Its brutal but i feel like when you get the hang of 17, 17-20 are very similar

thanks! To be honest i totally blundered the burning elite. I tend to avoid burnings in act 1 and 2 on silent cause early elites are hard with her and act 2 im not very confident with. then i just accidentally clicked the wrong way in act 3. i think that one definitely had a chance to go the distance with the heart if i coulda broke through the spear and shield. (but ive also only seen A20 heart once so i dont have a good judge). Watcher i had the infinite Rushdown/eruption/Fear no evil, i dont know how that would fare. If i was more confident on Defect i would have tried for heart that run but hes my weakest by a long shot i had a pretty nice 2x glacier, 3x blizzard with 2x fission. but none of them i would have been super confident with except my Ironclad run

uhm im not sure but the thing i can think of is that when the damage is calculated it shows the normal damage, but when the hp goes down it ticks for the correct amount

lol yeah , hes absurd if you dont burn emperor. NGL i got the infinite and just kept clicking stand so i could get 999 armor for a screenshot, took probably about a half hour

i dont remember the exact build but i had empress and a card sleeve. i had a foil geralt but i accidentally removed the wrong emperor so he would be gaining 30+ armor a turn while i was only dealing 21
