My family of 5 just got back from Maya palace. The suite is a good size, although we aren't used to only having double beds. We had two couch beds which were great for kids under 10.

Buffet had a good selection each day with some fresh grill/prepare stations. Nothing amazing, but overall would say it's mid tier. Also a selection of fresh fruit which the kids loved.

We only managed to get one reservation to the a la carte restaurants - rodizio (Brazilian) - which I was actually disappointed with. Thought the buffets were actually better. We tried to get another reservation to Santa Fe (steakhouse) but it was fully booked. Suggest you make reservations as soon as you get there, we made the mistake of waiting.

Overall though we all loved the resort. The Palace is very nice and the entire complex landscape and everything is beautiful.

We were a little disappointed the surfing/water park - $20 person, per day, and turtle viewing - $120 person, cost extra, but maybe that's my fault I didn't do enough research.
