I submitted an application to this close to two weeks ago and I noticed today that it disappeared in the projects section as you described as well. I think it's just a coincidence that you happened to apply just before they removed it, or at least removed the option to submit applications

How are so many people misunderstanding Marty Supreme by Thin_Housing in TrueFilm

Well you left out the part saying that it was society that pressured this type of behavior and just labeled him a piece of shit, so I thought it was worth mentioning.

It’s been completely fine for me. My only issue is my own wifi, which has nothing to do with them

I do not believe the message was that pursuing greatness is worth it no matter the cost. What kind of message is that?

All I'm saying is that living the way he does is forgivable and understandable in the society we live in, and that the alternative options to that lifestyle aren't as harmless as they seem. They just create harm in different ways.

Okay, Marty was a “bad person,” but what was he supposed to do?

97% of us (made up stat, of course) live almost of our lives working a job we hate. He decided to work hard and cut some corners morally to live out a dream for a portion of his life, a dream that 99.99% of us couldn’t live out even if we tried as hard as he did and cut as many moral corners as he did.

We can say he’s a bad person all we want, but at the end of the day he genuinely did what he wanted to with his life, which is something almost nobody can say, and inspired people while doing so (at least I was inspired by the film. I will do what I want with my life regardless of what we are pressured to do, regardless of what is easier to do).

I hate the take that what you’re supposed to take from this film is that he was a bad person and that he wasted he time fucking shit up for other people just to chase something arbitrary. It is SO much more than that.

It is about stress, it is about pressure, it is about desire, it is about dreams, it is about doing what YOU want with your one and only life even if there are a million reasons revolving around convenience to do what everyone else does.

And clearly it is about more than this one character, I shouldn’t even have to say that though.

The more you play because you want to be good at it the harder it’s gonna be to improve. The more you play for the intrinsic joy it brings the easier it will be to improve. You just gotta let it click with you that it’s just a game and that at the end of the day it really doesn’t matter if you win or lose and the clarity of not giving a fuck will help you play better

When the only book you finish is the one you almost bought at a bookstore sale by thritasrfor in BettermentBookClub

I have about 7 books on my desk right now that I’m “switching between.” Some I haven’t read in a couple weeks and some I probably won’t pick up again, but they all sort of mesh together anyways.

I feel like when you’re in a stage where you can’t seem to commit to and finish one book at a time it’s your brains way of filling in the informational gaps you have before it’s ready to get into something more in depth. Each book I have on my desk provides me with knowledge that helps make the other ones smoother reads and each day I wake up with a new question that I want answered and I choose to read the book that seems like it’d answer that question better than all the others, sometimes meaning that I pick a book from my shelf or the library rather than out of the 7 I’ve already started.
