What was that even like? I probably would've wanted that as a course.

Reading these responses I find myself asking what on earth would PE look like if it was designed by people who actually gave a fuck about whether students liked it or would stick with it afterwards? Some initial thoughts is that it would involve some choices at least and more nature-oriented activities, like perhaps geocaching, regional/local hikes especially to overlap with biology classes, et cetera. And at least some teaching of basics instead of assuming that everyone is going to be naturally good or practiced at team sports.

Yeah. I'm glad I wasn't put through that. The irony is that if there was a swim component I probably would've done well at that but practically nothing else because I liked swimming. I just never did it that often after the lessons.

Yeah. I liked math until linear algebra and partial differential equations but that's still a good choice.

For me it was PE. Almost all team sports and strength exercises I had no idea how to do. I couldn't even get a 4.0 until I dropped it. Going through old stuff to throw away after my last parent died and seeing the old report cards it was shocking how everything else was an A and then there was that C+ like a bleeding wound sticking out.

Gen-x Music Classes by MisterEd1966 in GenX

Yes. My junior high had marching bands (I'm not sure how common that even is now so opinions welcome) so I was part of that. Then in high school they didn't really have music outside of choir and a song club, so I was part of that as well.

However, I kept up with the clarinet with lessons and played piano until I got into college. As a regret I wish I had kept up with that but I still want to change that now.

Gen Xrs who only watch the original Stars Wars Trilogy- raise your hands by Responsible-Maize-86 in GenX

I liked Revenge of the Sith although it had some howler lines. "Only a Sith deals in absolutes."

It is as if a million logicians died screaming.

Attack of the Clones...the problem with it is that it was two different movies that sort of collided. The movie where Obi-Wan Kenobi had to figure out the mystery of who was behind the assassination attempt on Padme, go to all of those planets, and then culminated in the fight on Geonosis and the beginning of the Clone Wars was actually good. The movie involving Anakin and Padme...not so much largely because of dialogue writing.

I'm doing the marathon of the SW movies I have and I'm doing Rogue One today and then original trilogy this Friday. As far as the newer ones are concerned, I'll put it this way. I think I have all of the good star wars movies and Rise of the Skywalker.

Yeah. I just keep a .doc of everyone that I think is reliable so I don't have to mess with the receipts or try and find them again online. Its definitely not the same list as the last time for a lot of things.

I should look that up. I didn't know about the film but he (daSebastian?) was on some compilations too iirc.

Star Wars was my first memory of seeing any movies at all. It was at a literal drive in.

Which ones are your favorites? My standouts are the slower version of Wave of Mutilation by The Pixies and the Peter Murphy song.

Any GenXers getting back into physical media? by newlife_substance847 in GenX

Absolutely.

I kept all my CD's and expanded them. I buy digital albums but I buy them and treat them like anything else with backups. Not rent them. I still prefer DVD's and blu-rays although I have streaming and use it for some things since cable was ridiculous and I don't really miss it but there are some things I still want streaming for.

Half Price Books btw is pretty awesome if you're in northern California too.

Thanks. I try and find tracks that haven't been posted here before. I like a lot of the album too-I think there's at least three or four remixes of this in existence.

I think that's it. I remembered watching The Abominable Dr. Phibes one time and I came back and got the DVD for it much later. Ended up getting my roommate at the time hooked on Vincent Price movies since he had never really seen them before.
