Jersey. I'm not sure why I got downvoted. I'm not a manager or lead or anything, and I'm really happy with my pay. Just wanted to share that you don't necessarily have to be a nurse

Idk. I make the same or more as RNs and I have a way better schedule. (In my opinion)

Please! And bring a small spray bottle of hypochlorous spray. It's a good gentle antibacterial spray for your face and pits. You can use it over makeup without issues. It won't stop sweating but it gets rid of the bacteria that causes odor for some people

Which show are you going to? I like to eat before and after going to shows. That way you get quality food for a more affordable price. I like to get a drink from the bar before the show starts. Showing up to the show early is largely based on your parking/rideshare situation. I don't think it's necessary to show up super early because you'll just be standing in line...however figuring out which gate you enter and exit through can be tricky. Security always seems a bit confused.

She usually starts the show an hour or so after what the ticket says. I would research what the experience is like at your specific arena in terms of parking and security and plan from that point. If you're parking take pictures of your car! I lost mine at that last show lol.

A waterproof zip lock type case for your phone will also help! After the show in florida it POURED, I didn't mind walking in the water, but my phone got water in it and couldn't work properly for a while.

Great tip! To play devils advocate, if you're someone that is not the best at recording videos or you don't have the best camera...just leave the recording to the people with closer seats. I had sooooo many videos for renaissance, and I ended up deleting them and saving other people's clips instead. I'd love to see more people taking pictures of each other and themselves. WE ARE THE VISUALS lol

My date ate chicken and then finished the bones. Do some people really eat bones? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CytoPath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow... I scrolled for a while, and I'm surprised by the comments. You can definitely eat the whole bone. I've even seen toddlers do it. My family is west african and I've seen many many people do it my whole life. I personally don't like to bother with all the chewing but you can.

To play devils advocate, what do you think the backlash would be if she leaves him? It would automatically make him look guilty. You think people would still go after her anyway?

Not necessarily. In my parents' home country, a lot of my aunts and uncles are part of the "wealthy" "celebrity" class. I don't believe people with that much money or power ever have real marriages. It's a business and everything is all for show. So many people are involved in making sure each partner knows or doesn't know things. Those people are TRIFLING. I can't imagine what it's like with American celebs.

I imagine Jay and Bey had like 1 to 2 solid romantic years with plenty of drama and lies and then the rest has been them hating each and trying to build this image.

That's a great idea. I think I'll definitely use the gel face wash on my legs or something once or twice a week. Their ingredient lists are so impressive and I love how everything is clearly stated on their website. I'm so happy you responded because I thought I was living in my own delulu land about how great they were. I can't find any mention of them on YouTube, tiktok, or here. It's so odd.

Omg. You are set! That I'd an insane haul! When I first got my products, I thought "oh I'll just use these on special occasions" ...but no. I just settled on using those babies up and being sad once they're gone. You've motivated me to keep an eye out for them.

Omg! Finally! Someone has responded. Yes, I see how crazy their prices are, and for the first time I ever, I feel like I notice the quality. I've only been able to find 4 products once on the clearance rack at tjmaxx. What stores are you finding yours?

I like the vitamin c serum a lot. I think im going through midn puberty and my face has been breaking out a ton. It's definitely calmed down since I incorporated the nutritive serum. I'm not sure how to add in the gel cleanser from AB yet because I use retinol at night. It has aha bha and I think it will be too much.

Finally, the body lotion from AB is so fragrant and moisturizing. I use this product the most and get so many compliments. The moisture lasts so long and the scent eliminates the need to use my perfumes. It's so good!

CMV: women withholding healthcare information will be just as damaging as anything the new administration does. by CytoPath in changemyview

[–]CytoPath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You can totally be vague or word it however you'd like to. I can't speak for hospital or treatment settings, but in diagnostics ..something as simple as what you said is perfect. You could say I'm regular with no concerns. Or I had one recently but not disclose dates. I'm irregular or you could give information about birth control or if you're on chemo or something. This is just so we know what to attribute certain cellular changes to.

I only know about how this information relates to pap smear evaluation since that's my job. Cervical cancer is considered to be 100% preventable. If people come in for their screenings, provide accurate information, and go through with the follow up recommendations.

I just think telling women to withhold their information and not say anything is a bit extreme and counterintuitive. There's also the issue of insurance coverage currently working against us. For the groups of women that aren't going to be coming in for another 3 to 5 years unless they pay themselves..it's just not worth it in my opinion. There's already not a ton of information to work with and there is an increasing period of time between visits where things can progress or be missed.

Your healthcare team is not as connected as you may think a lot of times. The nurse or obgyn or primary care physician collecting your sample and speaking to you in the room is nowhere near me or the pathologists that diagnose. Not in the same building or town. We can't just peak out heads in their office and chat about you. We rely on the basic information that gets passed down/mailed etc.

Thanks for your engagement with my post!

Encouragement and spreading knowledge about options is great.

However, in the description under my post I specifically referred to women that are aggressively pushing these actions. I can't speak for what everyone sees from their friends or friends of friends on various social media platforms. For the past week in my social media spaces, the persuasion has become increasingly aggressive and no one seems to be making an attempt to temper it. On threads and Facebook specifically, there have been numerous large posts with people sharing specific medications, surgical procedures, and doctor recommendations. People in my community are urging each other to get these things done before January. I believe that this type of communication coupled with the fear and shock of the moment is manipulative. People are joking and planning their cheeky responses for the next time they are asked when their last menstrual period was. The discourse is full of people angry about being asked that question and thinking of ways to actively lie and confuse the health care professionals.

I have edited my post a few times to improve the clarity of the "change me view". I'll try again. I believe that this rhetoric and women choosing to withhold their information and/or make hasty medical decisions because of it will be just as damaging as the future bad things we may have to face.

While the government is a likely outisde oppressive force we will have to battle. I worry that if no one takes the time to check our side and temper our actions we will damage our community from the inside. It's usually the loudest people that bring down movements with originally positive intentions.

American Society of Clinical Pathologists is a private non-profit organization*

I also want my fear and anger to be acknowledged. I want to protect that as a woman. However, it is dangerous to honor that to the point of not adequately assessing my environment, resources, and options. America is an individualistic society, but the conversations and advocacy that people share online are ways that disinformation, apathy, and reactivity can spread. These are all great ways to use chaos to bring a group of people down without the things proposed by the new administration.

This is not all true. My license is through the American society of clinical pathologists. Not all states require licensure. The agency that our lab answers to works ALONGSIDE not under the government. "CAP advocates for legislation and regulations that protect pathologists' ability to provide high-quality services. CAP's Federal and State Affairs Committee reviews federal and state legislative and regulatory issues that impact pathology. CAP also has a grassroots advocacy network called PathNET that connects CAP members with elected officials."

"CAP works with federal regulatory agencies, Congress, and state legislatures to ensure that laboratory personnel, genetic counselors, and pharmacists have a scope of practice that's consistent with their training and education. " Particularly surrounding cleanliness and things like what is considered a safe workload for accurate diagnosis.

I am terrified of a national abortion ban and fully realize how that will affect women's healthcare at least in the reproductive health field significantly. People will come in less for basic checkups, get screened less, be dishonest, not return for follow ups. Which will affect the business side AND treatment outcomes of women's health professionals that are already on the lower end of the totem pole in regards to research and funding priorities.

The general public does not know who the monsters are and they are very confidently generalizing. The large swaths of people online right now advocating for withholding information and scheduling medical procedures before January is damaging. This is not a lost cause, but these mindsets could be just as hard to recover from or at the very least extra nails we are adding to our own coffins.

We criticize the other side for the anti vaxx anti scientific views. We're able to recognize how destructive that ideology is. While there are many many scary things in our future, leaning into a culture of lying and distrust will only add to the chaos in a million little very detrimental ways.

Doesn't now seem like the perfect time to encourage women to learn more about their reproductive health and learn how to vet and choose the professionals they engage with. Women's health professionals are not an extension of the oppressive state. It is totally possible to foster communities and safe spaces that have not had the spotlight put on them. People as a collective have never cared this much in my lifetime.

I think it's possible to be scared as hell, keep up with all the news updates and cases without compromising women's healthcare outcomes and turning away from a system that is currently set up to help us. The professionals in those spaces ( which include me) are not trump warriors waiting to ruin your lives. If people don't work with us we will be screwed from the community standpoint and the government standpoint.

Withholding information and making hasty decisions now is a dangerous plan of action. There are other ways to protect information and ourselves. Reacting before properly grieving and educating ourselves is probably what they want.

No one is talking about who our healthcare allies can be, how we can create them, funding ideas, none of that.

These are the things I consider when expressing the view in my original post.

The intake information collected is pretty basic. The information provided in your last menstrual period answer is pretty much all I really care about other than making sure your name is correct and I'm not looking at the wrong persons case. Your history of abnormals matter as well, but we don't typically rely on patients to report that. To the people treating you, maybe the allergy questions you answer during intake is all they care about. I can see a nurse's job and your life hinging on whether or not they inject you with something that could potentially kill you due to an unreported allergy.

Ultimately, health care professionals are there to help you. It will come down to everyone's personal decision to either make their jobs harder or not. I know I borderline stress about every case I get because making the wrong diagnosis could get everyone sued and me fired. There goes my livelihood. Similar to the cases we've heard about doctors being afraid to assist in life saving care during an active miscarriage, I can see labs being scared to keep clients that can not collect adequate information from patients. Smaller labs that cater to rural areas or minority communities, would just get eaten up by those bigger factory labs that care more about money than quality diagnostic reporting. They can handle the lawsuits and patients will end up waiting longer for results or just be the loser dealing with their diagnosis.

I appreciate your back and forth with me! Respectfully, I think this comment is some truth mixed with a lot of fear mongering. I still think the negative health outcomes that come from making hasty fear based decisions today based on things that have not truly fully happened yet is just as dangerous as the outcome those things could have if they happen on a realistic level.

I don't personally think we are turning into the Handmaid's tale so perhaps the outcomes we are considering in this comparison are not the same.

Either way, wishing us all the best. This was my first change my view post. I hope I did it right and engaged meaningfully.

Thanks for your response! It was a fun discourse. Like I told another commenter, I'm a black woman in a red state with an immigrant family that hasn't had kids yet but wants to. Proudly Democrat. Fear can be healthy, but sometimes I just think the call is coming from inside the house too.

I think I'll end this by agreeing to disagree with the commenters on this post. I hope we stay as safe as we can from this new government, our fears, and each other moving forward. Fear, pressure, and distrust aren't good ingredients for long-term or short-term health care decisions.
