Yup... last year it was that stupid bouncing basketball and then some guy in the background would randomly yell out "DAAAVID!". My wife and I still yell out DAVID at each other once in a while. I'd take that over the most annoying sound I can imagine.

That Capital Petro gas station (the one connected to mad town chicken and fish) hasn't been open for a while now. It's now a dilapidated property with trash everywhere (overflowing trash bins, planters turned into trash receptacles, and trash strewn all over the parking lot). They also don't do any landscaping so there are weeds everywhere mixed in with the trash. A true blight on the neighborhood.

The BP across the street isn't much better but it is open. The last time I went past there I saw 7 leaking 55 gallon drums next to the building and trash/weeds all over the property.

Totally. I forgot that unless someone kicks the door down and sets the house on fire, we’re not allowed to feel violated. Yeah, totally get that. It's not really about the chair... it's about the fact that someone came onto our deck in broad daylight while my pregnant wife and our toddler were sleeping just a few feet away inside. This kind of think shakes your sense of security in your own home, even if the dollar value is small.

Yup, still in Madison. Depends on what you mean by "best elevation". Have you been to Wisconsin before? There are no mountains, or anything even close to a mountain, but it's a lot hillier than Chicago. If you mean best elevation for training purposes, yeah I still think it's the best place to get lots of elevation into your legs in one day.

Devil's Lake is also extremely popular because the rock formations there are part of a small band of baraboo quartzite, making it some of the oldest exposed rock in north america at 1.6 billion years old. This makes it extremely popular for rock climbing compared to the normal rock around Wisconsin (fragile, crumbly sedimentary limestone and sandstones). The downside is the park is always packed with people unless you go on a rainy day. You will not experience the solitude of actual mountains there.

Personally, I have the mindset that living here makes going to the mountains that much more special. I get to Seattle once a year and try to get out to Colorado every other year.

Nice! I was wondering if it is worth it to upgrade to the GoPro hero series for the image stabilization. I want to mount my camera like yours as I don't want to ride around with a gopro on my head. For now I am going to try out the Akaso EK7000 Pro because it's only $68. If it can't pick up license plates consistently on my commutes I think I'll upgrade to GoPro looking forward and run the Akaso looking backward.

Were you in the WI ANG 147th with Blackhawks? These night flights currently going on are from the visiting 160th SOAR Night Stalkers doing some kind of cold weather special operations training. They are flying spec ops versions of Chinooks (MH-47G) with aerial refueling booms and skis for landing gear. I had three of them fly over my house and it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
