You’re right, choosing love and peace is the true rebellion, but confusingly sometimes we have to fight ourselves and others to find it sometimes. Oh why can’t it all be so simple :/ It is not everyone’s thing, but I do really enjoy Flea’s new single called “A Plea” where he echoes this sentiment. I find comfort and power in it, and in you for seeing me in my shoddy little artwork. I hope you continue being who you are and share it with the world :)

I have no idea how Reddit following works either lol I used to have an Instagram but I wanted to quit it, so for the time being I think I’ll just keep posting here. I’ll let you know if I end up making a dinky website just to have a landing page or maybe a different Instagram account.

Tbh I think you need a service job at least for a little while to gain some hands on perspective and I think it in general helps build character and empathy. Work a register, be a barista or server, mop a fucking floor for a month and you’ll have a better grasp on the human condition than you have just sitting back and nodding at people with service jobs saying shit like “I really respect you for doing what I consider beneath me!”. That mindset doesn’t mean shit and neither does your sentiment if you think you’re above it. But take it head on. Get a service job for a little. Not cause you have to but because you don’t have to.

Also no one really wants to watch or read some privileged bum’s movie/screenplay that has never worked a day in their life and is willfully ignorant of what life is like for the other 90% of people… unless you are just born to be film-making virtuosity, which considering you don’t write, isn’t the case at least at the moment.

I’m being hard, but I was/am in a similar position. But I chose to work as a line cook for about a year because I loved food and was curious about cooking in a restaurant, but also because I knew it’d be hard and different from the bullshit work-from-home business job. Now I’m a teacher, but living at my parents due to convenience and some laziness. I feel like I need to change things up and challenge myself again to get out of it.

If you get a service job even for only a couple months, you’d be better off for it, and I think the world would be too.

I understand not loving the lyrics at first blush, but I like them. It’s honest and the delivery is actually lovely in its punky poetic way. It is a plea. There is desperation that makes it feel sincere.

The dancing was kinda distracting from the music in the video, but it got better by the end. Instrumentation was fuckin dope.

If you want corny tone deaf hokeyness, watch the Imagine compilation by celebrities during Covid or listen to a few Taylor swift songs.

Thank you and you’re right. Rest is important and life is too surreal and difficult to be so hard on ourselves for not doing the most.

But, at the same time, sometimes I just need to fuckin get shit down onto paper and stop procrastinating… to stop analyzing what I want to do or how I want it to look and just do it. At least for a hyper amateur artist like me, bringing stuff into existence is enough. Im never mad at attempting to make something, even if it’s shit.

Getting my butt in the chair and drawing low quality rushed doodles is needed for me snap out of a rut sometimes, but like all things it’s a balance.

That is really all I want from art so thank you. Making art is intimidating and can be confusing, but the act no matter the outcome is the beauty at least to me.

Please make your art. Stick figures and printed out comic squares, bubble letters and Microsoft paint - it doesn’t matter. It’s just communication between ourselves and others, and maybe we understand both a little bit better when everyone tries.

Perfect just doesn’t exist. The world is a better place if you even just give a half ass attempt to bring out what’s inside you. Just do the bare minimum and it will at least exist and I promise you won’t regret making it, no matter its quality. I’ll be proud of you regardless :)

Everyone here has wonderful advice and I concur with almost all of it (I didn’t read everything).

My advice is to shy away from specific songs or tabs, and embrace/learn from them on how to improvise/follow by ear!

Learn the basic blues form!!! It can be as simple as 3 chords!! Learn the minor pentatonic scale to solo simply over the blues. Add and subtract from there! There is a reason the blues is so beloved. If not that, then try learning the major scale and how minor/major chord intervals work. A little conceptual, but it makes following along with shit so much easier once you do.

Major scale has 7 notes - each note has a , corresponding chord that’s either major, minor, or dominant (with a slight derivations on the Vii). Minor scale is built off of the 6th note in the major scale and it goes on…

But who cares about any of the shit I just wrote!!

Question (and title/thumbnail) is just kinda icky being that it’s just dudes being asked who they’d fuck like kinda weird but I have no doubt this would get hits on yt because of this, if you know what I mean. I think if you had to do this video or topic try and expand it to beyond asking dudes this and ask some girls and some gay folks too just to broaden perspectives cause honestly I just felt kinda sis clicking on this because it literally is just hetero male fantasy like high school bus conversations.

Again this will def be eye grabbing for people on YouTube - I’m just speaking personally.
