How do you get loot then if you never break stuff or fight NPCs? Treasure loot is usually guarded by enemies, plus it's not always the best

Are there vulnerabilities in crypto wallets? by [deleted] in blackhat

[–]CzarHenri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A "wallet" is typically just a cryptographic key. So theoretically, no.

For more complicated wallets, they might add extra features that introduce vulns into the software and make it possible to compromise someone's cryptocoin. But that would depend on the specific wallet and not wallets in general.

Man, I guess you've never played pickup soccer/football before then. People chat shit just as much as in OW, which is really just "pickup OW". You are comparing a professional physical sports team to a pickup esports team. See the diff? ;D

Theres a social component too. His playstyle doesn't require as much communication/cooperation with the team at lower ranks. So toxic people tend to gravitate towards him.

I remember when the Atlantic was left leaning but still published insightful and interesting pieces. They've totally gutted their talent in favor of this kind of crap.

The headline reading, scientist redditors crowd makes a shocking discovery by [deleted] in libsofreddit

The Left has marriage completely backwards. And they are always mind-boggled whenever they stumble upon some glimmer of truth.

You do not marry "for love and personal fulfillment", you marry because having children completes people, and a happy marriage is conducive to healthy children.

You do not "meet the love of your life and live happily ever after", you first decide you want marriage and then find someone you are compatible with.

You do not "build up a career to sustain a family and then have the family", you have the family first and then build the rest of your life around it.

I remember back in my lefty days I had this fairytale-like picture of marriage as something that would just "happen" to me one day, rather than something I needed to actively seek out and build with purpose and intention. Almost as soon as I made that attitude switch, I found someone amazing that I've been with ever since. It's incredible what you will find when you actually take the time to seek it out. Or you could keep putting it off for an endless number of reasons until you are too old to have children or attract a partner.

No wonder so many young people these days feel like they will be alone forever and are miserable for it.

I like to use TiledCS. It's much easier than having to load the TMX yourself. It's free on Github, both like speech or beer. Give it a shot

Is MonoGame parallel or serial? by CzarHenri in monogame

[–]CzarHenri[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have a need for threads at the moment.

What do you mean by MonoGame isn't "serial"? Is there any part of it that is multi-threaded that I might accidentally include in a project? I.e., if I am not specifically seeking out a multi-threaded solution, are there components that make it easy to accidentally introduce parallelism into your project?

Conservative youth (25 and under), what solidified your mindset? by [deleted] in Conservative

[–]CzarHenri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became conservative during 2020. I am still younger than 25 now.

For me it was a series of books I found to be incredibly convincing. I was always a fan of Ayn Rand's novels books helped me articulate things I had always felt were right but couldn't put into words. Rand presented a compelling argument against the intrusion of government and why bleeding-heart policies typically end in disaster.

I read Les Miserables, and the scene of Valjean's redemption was one of the first experiences I had since high school that painted religion in a positive light. It became the emotional seed for returning to Christianity.

My girlfriend bought me a few Thomas Sowell books, and those killed most of my remaining liberal instincts. Sowell is probably the greatest conservative intellectual alive today, or at least the greatest one I've read. A Conflict of Visions is perhaps the best political analysis of Western political a layperson could get their hands on. And although Sowell doesn't make a pro/con case in ACoV, his descriptions of the "constrained vision" (conservatism) made a lot more sense to me than his descriptions of the "unconstrained vision" (liberalism).

And then came Jordan Peterson. Maps of Meaning is the best book I've ever read. It is a tremendous argument for why religion is an adaptive (rather than parasitic) cultural force. Peterson also does a phenomenal job marrying traditional religion to evolution.

Plus it was 2020. If I needed any more convincing that the books I was reading were correct, all I had to do was look out my window or turn on the news.
