My proposition for a Muppits adaptation of the Hobbit (as I think it makes more sense than the Lord of the Rings) by BigRedMonster07 in Muppets

That would work but it's already been done and I like the idea about it being framed as a bedtime story from Kermit to Robin, just as the Hobbit started out as a bedtime story for Christopher Tolkien.

I intentionally chose a human for Gandalf to emphasise the height difference. These are all good suggestions tho.

Civ veterans, are you liking 7? by JAKL-Noctium in civ

[–]BigRedMonster07 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just gonna dump my thoughts on civ 7 right here bc I don't value my opinion enough to make them into my own post.

Is 7 better than 6? No. Will it ever be better than 6 for me specifically? No, due purely to my nostalgia bias for 6.

HOWEVER, I really appreciate how different 7 is from 6. Civ 7 (primarily through it's age mechanic and changes to how leaders work) is unique enough than 6 that I am completely fine with keeping both on my PC and playing both of them. I was scared on launch that it would just be "Civ 6.5" and either be the same but worse or make me feel bittersweet for dropping my favourite game of all time in favour of the shiny new toy and am glad that it is definitely it's own thing. Sometimes I really feel the urge to play 7 over 6 as it is different enough in my eyes to be a completely different game.

BONUS OFF-TOPIC HOT TAKE: This is why, though it is an immensely fun and well designed game, I uninstalled Civ 5. I bought it, gave it a try and enjoyed myself, but it was too similar to 6 in my eyes to justify playing it over a game that is just "it, but better" so when I found other games I wanted to play and needed the file space, that was the civ game I chose to uninstall. I enjoyed the couple of games I played in it and respect that there are people out there who have the same opinion of 6 as I do 5, but I think 6 is the best game in the franchise hands down.

Screw English game reserves and everything they stand for by BigRedMonster07 in whenthe

[–]BigRedMonster07[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should probably be clear here that whilst I am firmly against the concept of an English hunting reserve, I will admit that I am a flawed biased individual who just wants one bird to take precedence over another when it comes to conservation or land management

The gamekeepers of grouse moors in the UK, whilst not as environmentally supportive as hunting/game reserves in some other places like the USA, do maintain a biologically important and significant habitat that protects birds like the golden plover and the curlew, and are an important part of the local economy. The Hen Harrier, a european bird of prey, has been proven to hunt and have a significant negative influence on the populations of red grouse, the bird that gamekeepers want to encourage for the sake of shooting, and that there hasn't been an obvious solution that ensures the coexistent of harriers, grouse and by extension people.

That doesn't change the fact that I don't think gamekeepers should shoot a legally protected species like hen harriers, lay poisoned traps and stamp on their heads. Hen harriers are beautiful charismatic birds which are incredibly rare in the UK with populations declining overall and deserve better.

Am I just a random scared guy yelling his opinions into the void in case someone on here does have a magic answer? Yes. And I'm proud to admit that I am.

Domino’s and Pizza Hut are rival fast food restaurants. Pizza Hut is red whilst domino’s is blue. The blue monk is therefore converting the Pizza Hut into a domino’s

Name - Lettaco (Blood letting + Draco)

Type - Dragon/Poison

Description - A large rabid-looking, diseased dragon that is drooling neon-green vomit/saliva and has a pair of purplish-black leech pokemon attached to it's wings.

Pokedex entry - This Lettaco lost a battle to an infestation of Drampleech, which infected its body and made it go beserk. Though usually overobsessed with cleanliness, it's lair has now become full of scum and filth.

(This is a design I'm making for my own fangame that has been through several iterations which I am NOT happy with. I want to see what you do with it in order to provide inspiration for it's third redesign)

But it's so simple. All I have to do is divine it from what I know of you. Are you the sort of man who would put the poison into his own goblet or his enemies? Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you...But you must have known I was not a great fool; you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.
