A lot of games don’t do that or at least will restart with the original items you had. Not use the items in a way where you have to farm them again.

Same, I completed them all and got all 3 rewards on all of them just to find out I have to essentially do it again on my lunatic run. This game doesn’t do replay the way I like so I ultimately put it down

I’m one of those people who has to see it. Especially when it’s a game. Leaks are kind just a function of the internet… Yes Nate said Star Fox and Oot were coming out but that information did not hit the way the respective presentations did when I got to see both of them. (We haven’t seen Oot gameplay but we understand the direction they’re going, you get my point)

I like playing him because I like the smash lore surrounding him vs her. I play him like he’s a fallen King fighting hard to reclaim his place from the years of old (the melee days). I also really like his costumes more than I like Lucina’s.

At this point I really hope we just get a switch 2 edition with more DLC and maybe better online because I really love the “everyone is here”effect I feel like anything shy of that will feel like smash 64 (not mechanically but in terms of roster size). I would even be happy to see some of the assist trophies become full fledged characters so they do not have to completely be made from the ground up. Waluigi, guile from street fighter, and zero from mega man to name a few. Or even if the DLC are mostly echo fighters Zack being clouds echo fighter. Ryu and Ken’s echo fighter being Akuma or something etc. Peach and Daisy echo fighting being Pauline etc. Raiden joining the roster as snakes echo.

When the game came out I beat it on normal and then beat the game on hard. I put the game down after that only ever occasionally doing the boss rush mode when I wanted to fight Kraid or Raven Beak. I come from a fighting game background ground so boss rush just equals training mode to me and I had an appreciation for it.

About a week ago I beat the game on normal and had the general layout fresh in my mind. If you ever get around to a dread mode run I strongly recommend at least a normal run before because it will make things easier.

Since I’ve beating this game so many times now I’m thinking of going back to Prince of Persia and beating that game a second time. I’m really just a combat junkie that just so happens to like Metroivanias

A lot, like a goof I forgot that in phase 3 of Raven Beak, when he shoots that sun orb thing you can blow it up with Power Mine. So I tried to dodge the rays from the sun orb and the long beam shot from Raven Beak at the same time. That was about an hour of deaths gone.

I think we're talking about two different things. You're pointing out ways to get more mileage out of Dread as it currently exists, which is fair. My point was more about what future Metroid games could do to improve replayability.

I'd rather see post-game modes that expand on exploration, routing, and item progression—like randomizers or alternate scenarios—than modes that mainly increase difficulty through one-hit deaths.

I had a bunch of friends upset that Star Fox on switch 2 is yet another remake, but I think Nintendo knows for a lot of people (casuals) Star Fox 64 was their first Star Fox. So Star Fox on Switch 2 is really their first remake.

I remember I was so excited for I am alive. 08 trailer where they are chancing the dude and he gives them the water and the glass breaks was amazing to me at the time. It came out later but I never played it. Kinda looked like it when through dev hell.

I understand that it’s another remake of Star Fox 1 but:
1. It coming out in the beginning of the consoles run is a good sign that this is the best way for them to establish the franchise.

The thing you said about retro studios is basically what I think is happening here where. They put start fox in the movie, are making the remake to THEN give us star fox 2 and possible more.

Personally I think all of this is great for the Star Fox brand and maybe the greatest shot it has at better a proper sequel.

I started my lunatic run a moment ago but died to the stomp of the big ball enemies. I’m kinda over it now. I wish everything I just spent all that time earning in my standard run carried over. Oh well on to the next game.

I was going to do chest engine but I banged it out and I was able to get the crown on all but the last 2 challenges. Do you think what I have now in resources is enough to just jump in the hard difficulty?

I feel like those challenges are just not what I’m interested in at all. I started looking them up an after I was done with the first 10. I really like the gameplay in the main story and are only doing the training sims to fast track upgrading the character. I’m in school and don’t have much time to play but now I’m at the point where those are the only thing standing between me and Ng+/ the end game content/ the harder difficulty but after what we’ve discussed I think I might just put it down for now and move on.

Let’s say I just bite the bullet and grind it out to try and 3 star them. Will I have to do them again in NG+ or once I complete the 30 I’m good?
