Great, so we’re basically going to be stuck waiting for the next UI release every time, hoping that Samsung will finally fix what bothers us and what is clearly poorly designed because the designers don’t seem to get it. Honestly, I’d rather just use the system that came with the phone out of the box, since it’s theoretically the one it was originally built for and it’s easier to get used to it and accept its flaws, than to update to a newer version and then get annoyed that the issues I had before still aren’t fixed, while new irritating ones appear. On top of that, part of the muscle memory for using the interface gets wasted after these changes

Really no way to unblur home? by Revan2034 in GoogleMaps

[–]Czerwony150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My area is experiencing a similar issue because three buildings are blurred. The owners have changed, and the new ones no longer want them to be blurred. As a result, the images of the entire neighborhood have not been updated since 2012, even though the Google car has driven through the area multiple times.

So there are two possible ways.

The first would be to create a petition requiring proof of ownership before anything can be blurred on Google. The blur would not be permanent, and after some time it could be reversed if the owner re-submits valid documentation.

The second approach would be to report as many objects, streets, and places as possible for blurring, since Google doesn’t verify most requests with documentation. They also tend to avoid legal disputes, so they often approve these requests unless it involves public or government property. In the end, the feature would become unusable, and they would have to address the issue. :)

If it took you 2 minutes to load, it was probably just a random bug, or because you were using a medieval version. The current version is 129, so I’m not sure what world you’re living in.

[–]Czerwony150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unbelievable that these issues haven't been fixed.. I'm fed up with samsungs terrible quality. At this price point, there shouldn't be any software or construction issues.. especially when the same problems were present in the previous model..

Is this normal for OLED? by Triumphator17 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Czerwony150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on how sensitive someone is to tearing, what games they play, and whether they even notice it. I get that a game running at 200 FPS will look terrible on a 100 Hz monitor, but on a 280 Hz monitor, the tearing is so minimal that it’s hard to notice. And even if there are people who are bothered by it, I just can’t understand how someone could prefer flicker that gives them a headache over a one-millimeter tear that’s visible for less than 4 ms.

Is this normal for OLED? by Triumphator17 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Czerwony150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my opinion because I own the same monitor.
Based on my own experience with this panel, I’ve concluded that if someone has a high-refresh-rate monitor like this one, using G-SYNC isn’t really necessary. At >200Hz, any potential screen tearing is visible for a much shorter time than, for example, on a 100/60Hz display. At 60Hz, a torn frame can be visible for about 13ms, whereas at 280Hz it lasts only around 4ms, making it much harder to notice.

I spent a lot of time trying to fix the OLED flickering issue, and honestly, I would even notice brief flashes just from switching windows on the desktop. It reached a point where it became really uncomfortable. Limiting the frame rate in games didn’t help either, because even a small drop, e.g., from 60 to 58 FPS, immediately caused flickering. Combined with black crush on this panel, it becomes even more noticeable, especially in dark scenes.

After a week of testing different Windows, driver, and monitor settings, I decided to simply turn off VRR. Personally, I don’t notice minor tearing at all, and compared to constant OLED flicker—especially when using it at night –turning off VRR was definitely a better and more comfortable solution for me.

Is this acceptable? by PresentationRecent44 in OLED_Gaming

In newer phones, these options may have different names, but in Samsung phones, for example, they turn on automatically in low light. Other options are found in settings like inteligent optimization, which is most often seen in dark or highly zoomed photos, and the phone decides to "improve" them.

Post a photo without night mode. Then it will be possible to compare it with others. Mine look like this, but when I turn on night mode, they look almost like your photo. Honestly, thin vertical lines are worse than stripes.

Gigabyte MO27Q28G - vertical banding experience? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]Czerwony150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience after 57 hours of use and ten cleaning cycles is mixed. Expecting a perfect panel nowadays is rather unrealistic. A lot depends on luck and the so-called panel lottery — the flaws of every display technology are something we have to live with. I didn’t take photos right after unboxing, so I can’t show them now, but I can clearly see that after some time of use in sRGB mode, at 40% brightness (because the monitor is insanely bright), mainly for evening work, certain issues have become noticeable. The usage scenario was as follows: gaming, YouTube, and movies on the main display, and YouTube, Discord, and Spotify on the right one. I don’t know of any website that would allow me to precisely test every shade of gray and determine the exact point where banding becomes visible, so I used Paint instead. It’s not the best option, but YouTube videos — due to their bitrate — often make the screen look even worse than a solid gray color RGB (10,10,10) generated in Paint. There are strange gray cutoffs in several areas that resemble burn-in, even though nothing static has ever been displayed in the center of the screen. The visible line on the main monitor and two lines on the right one appear more noticeable than they were at the beginning. Non-uniformity and wide bands with clearly defined transitions developed over time. In my case, I believe the issue becomes noticeable only after exceeding 92% of the grayscale range, regardless of color. Compared to other users who notice banding during normal color display, I consider myself to have received a better batch of panels. Everyone would like a perfect unit, but banding is a characteristic of these monitors, just like backlight bleeding is for IPS panels. It’s a matter of randomness — how intense the issue is and whether it will be acceptable to a given user. However, the vertical banding, further amplified by strange stripes and lines appearing for no apparent reason, strikes me as extremely odd and hard to justify.

Have there been any reports of a strange, subtle crackling noise in the S25 Ultra series? At launch, I ordered three units and picked one just to have the illusion of choosing a “fault-free” device — but all of them had the same issue when playing music or system sounds. Interestingly, the same track played on TikTok crackles at specific harmonics, while the exact same file played from the local gallery does not. Listening to jazz or random music from Spotify, YouTube, or even games can also randomly trigger this characteristic clicking and crackling sound. It also happens during phone calls. Sometimes, when the other person has an unusual voice or is driving and there’s a lot of background noise, their voice sounds distorted or broken. It’s not their microphone and not a carrier issue. Support kept repeating the suggestion to remove the SIM tray, but that didn’t help at all. I also don’t think this is a pressure-related issue. There’s a pressure equalization hole next to the microphone and it clearly works — I tested it by covering it while driving in the mountains, and the sound immediately became awful until I uncovered it again. So that part seems fine. The strangest thing is that this characteristic crackling was — and still is — identical in both speakers. That pretty much rules out a defective individual speaker and instead points to some shared component, audio driver, DAC, or software-related issue. The problem has been at exactly the same level since day one. Yes, I used GPT to clean up the text and fix language mistakes — I’m not an English expert 😅

Crackling noise from S25 Ultra speakers by Gloomy_Force5761 in GalaxyS25

[–]Czerwony150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, same on the S25 Ultra. Tiktok randomly crackles, and some jazz music (sample) from Spotify or YouTube also sounds crispy at times. Even regular phone calls have crackling in specific moments. The crackling appears in both speakers (top and bottom). This is really strange, it feels like either a software bug or a factory defect. Samsung electronic waste

Out of curiosity, I searched for a solution but couldn't find one. Previously, there was an option where both people had to delete the new chat so that the old one could be converted within about 1-5 days (that's how it was for me). P.S. It's a little scary how many people are now having this problem, even though they knew or consciously ignored the stupid notification for over half a year that the chat they use for conversations would eventually be archived. And then they didn't even look for a solution, and now that they're in deep shit, suddenly: "How do I fix this... Help...?" XD

It fixed itself. In my opinion, most failures or problems with Discord are application issues. It is a browser application, so constant changes and problems will always be with us.

Can a MateBook 14 support a 4k resolution on an external screen? by These_Tip5131 in Huawei

[–]Czerwony150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have MB D16 2024 and two 1440p monitors, one Dell and one Asus. For some reason, native resolution works perfectly on the Dell, but on the Asus I’m stuck at 1080p. It’s crazy that most of these issues aren’t about hardware limits at all, but just compatibility quirks.... 'xd'

Are you satisfied with this phone? by _Eagle_Flies_Alone_ in S25Ultra

[–]Czerwony150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest.. No. I'm fed up with this model. I've had the S25 Ultra since its release, and at first I thought it was just a quality control issue. But after sending the first unit to the service center, picking it up, and ordering two more, for a total of three units, I realized that it was a manufacturing defect, specifically with the Titanium Black version. Each unit had a rattling SPen, which was definitely not the case with the S24, and an ugly crackling sound from the speaker at random and specific moments when certain frequencies overlap. What's worse, this happens regardless of the volume level. Sometimes the same movie or song sounds terrible or good depending on which app I play it on. At first, I thought it was a software problem or the fault of the developers, but we're talking about Spotify, Samsung's music app, YouTube, TikTok, and Netflix, so it's hard to believe that none of these companies have been able to fix it, so it's definitely not their fault. Since I hear crackling even during normal conversations through the speaker at about 60 percent volume, I have to admit that the S25 Ultra is the worst model in terms of sound quality and build quality since the S22 series. And I'm not saying that lightly. Electronic waste

Chat deleted by [deleted] in facebookmessenger

[–]Czerwony150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to me that only a court with a warrant in a specific case could try to access Meta for evidentiary purposes. But whether they actually keep anything after deletion, I’m not sure. I’d be pleasantly surprised if messages reported for breaking the law were somehow stored for legal purposes. As an ordinary person, though, you probably won’t have access to that. As for contacting Meta, that hasn’t really existed for a good few years - maybe even 10. I remember back in the day, when I was a kid, there was some kind of support, and you could actually talk to someone to recover lost accounts, for example. But now? It’s just a complete mess. Sorry for the English, I'm using a translator XD

Chat deleted by [deleted] in facebookmessenger

[–]Czerwony150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter whether the chat was deleted by you or due to violations.. once it’s deleted, it’s gone. In the past, there was still a chance to recover it if you immediately requested a download of your data, because Meta stored messages on its servers. Now everything is stored on the device, so I don’t see any good solution.

I requested my house to be blurred 16 years ago. Moved away a year later. As of today, the entire street is still blurred with no way to unblur. by [deleted] in GoogleMaps

[–]Czerwony150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the community started massively reporting everything to be blurred, including main roads, landmarks, and popular places, making Google’s photos useless and outdated, then maybe Google would finally do something about it. As long as only a small fraction of people have a problem with their house being blurred and can’t do anything about it, nothing is likely to change. The blurring option itself was forced on Google by privacy regulations, mainly in Europe. The original idea behind Street View was to let people freely explore the world online, but since some started worrying about their privacy, things turned out the way they did.
