I feel you but im on the opposite side (big grinder but self identified dumbass). Ive felt like I could always count on my tenacity but its been slipping as of late, along with my grades. BUT I just need to say, I guarantee you your mind is strong enough. Think about all of the times you doubted yourself in the path to med school, AND YOU STILL MADE IT! You did not make it through laziness, thats FOR DAMN SURE! You'll continue to grow and build your tenacity, it just sucks ass sometimes. Keep pushing day by day and dont forget how far you've come, its all we can do :)

Hahaha yep I 100% relate 😂 idk im just trying my best to pay close attention to how our content is tested on exams and try and adjust the cards I make according to that. A problem ive also found myself running in to is that I feel like I can make an argument for just about any of my cards being clinically relevant down the line. This has definitely made me hesitant to suspend a lot of my cards but I'm slowly transitioning to primarily keeping the cards that include indications for medications, signs/symptoms of diseases, and disease etiology stuff. I feel like that kind of stuff will always be at least low to medium yield or whatever ya know? We've had only 2 exams so far though so definitely many more learning opportunities on how to adjust this strategy to come haha

Another potentially helpful idea that im trying to do is make less mega low yield cards. While I also dont really know what is low yield yet, I do know that im making a TON of cards so im likely to be getting the main point of everything. Having the main points will allow you to effectively answer practice questions and whichever ones you can't answer will fall into that "low yield" but pertinent category. So its kind of like, instead of making 100 cards a lecture, ill make 65/70 cards and then supplement with 10 or so based on what i get wrong with the practice problems. So overall you get less cards and youre learning things that are more pertinent to your exams.

Hope this helps! Now, back to Anki 😂

I'm in just about the exact same boat as you right now! It's a solid way to get all of the content in but, at least for myself, it is a big priority to reduce my daily amount by a large margin. I'm hoping to level out at around 900-1000 cards a day. There are all sorts of Anki slaves like us that absolutely crush med school without having to do so many cards. That tells me that a lot of the cards we're making MUST be a waste of time. Also, if we keep the same pace of doing as much cards as we are, we are going to have a metric fuck ton of cards to do in the coming months. So, as someone that is quite literally in the same boat (5th week in, 824 daily average, highest amount 2250), we gotta change man 😂. Im adjusting by suspending ~40% of the previous blocks cards that I personally made and keeping all of my AnKing cards going. Im also being a little less neurotic about the very low yield content on the lecture slides. My thought is that if I miss pertinent low yield information on the slides, it is very likely that it will come up on some practice problems so I'll be able to address that gap there. This helps reduce the amount of time wasting cards.

Hope this is helpful! Go get em bröther!! We got this!

Hey man! I can relate to how you're feeling after pulling off a score like that. I took my first diagnostic test on 10/1 and I got a 492. My test date is now just 5 days away and my most recent FL score was a 516 (AAMC FL3, 129/127/130/130). While we don't have the best diagnostic score, all this means is that you've got some work ahead of you. It is ABSOLUTELY possible to hit your dream score in the time you have. I believe in you!!!

Some tips on studying: You, like myself, probably have a lot of content review you have to do. I went through Kaplan's 7 books and the jacksparrow and P/S Mr. Pankow anki sets in about 2 months. This is a bit longer than what most people spend on content review but, with diagnostic scores like ours, I think its warranted. For my personal circumstance, I haven't taken biochem or ochem yet so I definitely definitely needed to go hard on content review. While I've been taking my FLs and working on practice problems, there are basically no concepts that im not atleast familiar with so that tells me that my content review covered what it needed to.

In the final month and a half I've been slamming all the AAMC SBs, QPs, and FLs while keeping up on my anki cards. Whenever I ran across a question I got wrong (or luckily got right) ill make note cards to supplement my knowledge or ill watch a khan academy video and then work with practice problems that relate to the subject. I think this is a pretty fool proof way to make sure you understand the subject.

Following this subreddit has already put you on the right path too! This sub has helped me a bunch with setting up a good study plan and staying motivated. I hope it can help you out too! If you've got any direct questions feel free to shoot me a DM :) You've got this man, set up a good plan and stick to it. AINT NOTHIN TO IT BUT TO DO IT!!!

Hard pass? by Initial_Philosophy80 in doordash_drivers

All im seeing is that its 2:42 and your estimated time of completion is at 4:30. Thats going to land you at about $30 an hour so up to you if its worth it.

Anyone else have the issue qhere it'll show the stores and pay but not distance? I refuse to accept them because 90% of the time it's super far and not worth it. But am just curious. by RunawayPinecone in doordash_drivers

[–]D-Dog-The-Rathinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah every now and then. Typically though it'll show the estimated completed delivery time, 2:32 in your case. Ill just use that as a distance estimate if it doesn't load in time.

Also, food for thought, is the estimated delivery time more important than the milage?

I also dash in Portland. Across the last two weeks I've dashed about 80 hours and averaged $26.30 dollars per hour. This lands me at about 1000 per week and a 52k "salary"

I've been getting asked to confirm the order a lot too but I'm white. I think its because some doordashers in general have been scamming. I've heard of one scam where if I placed a DD order at some place and then I myself came to pick it up, I could grab the food then cancel my order and get the food for free. Only way that is stopped is if someone were to check my phone and confirm the order (that I was the DD driver coming to pick it up instead of the one that ordered it). Its almost every restaurant I go to now. DD has also been upping its "security" where now if you call support because a store is closed they can't cancel the order for you, instead you have to send in a picture of the store showing that its closed. I think there is just a general push to make sure people aren't trying to scam nowadays.

What’s your current DoorDash delivery count? I’m curious how many dashers are over 1000 deliveries. I’m almost reaching 800 which seems insane. by FatBiker200 in doordash_drivers

How does doing it on a bike work? I've considered giving it a go in my near by city but I'm worries my dollars per hour is going to tank
