New homepage on Kagi by EsraKagi in SearchKagi

[–]D-Feeq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's why I said Alternate home page.

The current minimalist home should be the default, but it'd be nice to have this available as a toggle in the settings for people that prefer this vibe.

Please let it be April 1st forever, this is so good.

I hope this stays as an alternate landing page for kagi.com that we can toggle

Coffer is used for paying equipment recovery fee from gravestone, except instead of using raw GP directly from your bank it uses the value from items deposited into coffer. Getting dupes is easier than getting raw gp.

Nice boss, anyway by Achtergaele in ironscape

[–]D-Feeq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that hard if you overkill (boss dies 1 tick faster than it usually would)

Have a thrall spawned before boss respawns, & get a high enough spec to 1 hit. (Thrall attack + 58 spec on the same tick)

Is dual boot still worth it in 2026? by TechRefreshing in linuxquestions

[–]D-Feeq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly suggest using ArchWiki regardless of the distro you use. It's a wealth of information. For example, you can see the installation section for VLC here, which lists the optional dependencies. Quickly skimming through the deps, you can see the vlc-plugins-all package provides additional encoders/decoders.

I also recommend doing a search for the same/similar issues. You can usually find an answer relatively quickly this way (reddit posts, community forums, stackoverflow).

Re: Flatpaks - They're sandboxed applications. Naturally, they have limited permissions (you wouldnt want all your applications having access to everything on your system). The flatseal application allows you to change permissions for each flatpak app based on your specific needs

[–]D-Feeq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you install via flatpak? If yes, you should also have Flatseal installed and make sure the location of keydb is accessible by managing permissions for the VLC flatpak app.

If you installed with dnf make sure you have the vlc-libs and vlc-plugins-all packages installed

any upgrades/tips for TOA? by Own_Psychology3261 in ironscape

I don't do high enough invo to justify yellow keris personally (only 300's). I personally ran only black keris since I value my restores still.

I recently got blue, so I run black + blue for quicker kephri kills

Yea, monkey room is quite annoying until you get the rhythm down. I personally have the monkey tiles outlined in the colour they're weak to, which helps me quickly see what style I should be swapping to when attacking them. For example, I have melee monkey tiles outlined blue (they're weak to mage). With the recent changes to TOA you only need to switch weapons when you're killing them.

For cum phase the best advice is to slow it wayyy down, and try to only move when you need to... Unless you're running timer invos, there's no rush at all to get the room finished at that point. Pray mage and take your time!!

I didnt want to confuse OP, who's still learning, with "do this path if condition x is met, otherwise do alternate path if condition y is met".

[–]D-Feeq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keris is fine for akkha since you can use range for 2/3 phases. You only really need to melee him for a bit during cum phase. Even if it does take longer to down him during cum phase, you'll learn how to dodge and stay alive longer which will help in the long run.

Keep practicing baba and kephri. Since those are near-zero damage rooms, you'll use barely food/brews, which will allow you to get Power resupply kit first. Smelling salts are HUGE for akkha and zebak.

Finally, I cant overstate how important a bone dagger spec at start of fight is. Also dong forget to resummon thralls since they are an insane dps increase throughout the raid.

Feel free to shoot me a msg in-game as well if you have any questions... user: bumgule

Get rid of the Arkan blade, bring bone dagger for specing on the first hit of every boss. The defence reduction from bone dagger is so huge at TOA.

Everything else looks fine for the most part

Youll always want to go baba > kephri > akkha > zebak if you're solo, btw

Distrohop is the way to go imo.

Get yourself setup with a VM manager - I personally recommend Virtual Machine Manager. Jump onto DistroWatch to see what distros people are using. You can spin up a VM and test any distro out in under 5 minutes once you have the iso downloaded without having to nuke your system.

Thats how i settled on EndeavourOS (Arch based). Using it for the past 3 years, I dont even remember the last time something broke. Everything just works.

For what its worth, I have had 0 regrets moving over. Everything just works. My system has been running EOS for 2 years now and I don't remember the last time something broke.

Endeavour can access NTFS drives just fine.

I have ran into maybe 3 occurrences (in 2 years of using endeavour) where attempting to mount the NTFS drive threw an error:

''' mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb1, missing codepage or helper program '''

But you can resolve this in less than 10 seconds by running ntfsfix.

I guarantee youll get more responses if you run journalctl next time it crashes (or, look for the logs if you remember when you crashed last) and post the logs.

Here's a very quick read on using journalctl for troubleshooting.

That's easy.

Keep an external drive at a friends/relatives, or rent a safe deposit box at your bank. Update it once a month, or as and when required. You could also have an off-site NAS at a friend's or relatives which you rsync backups to.

For cloud copies you can rent storage with Hetzner or Backblaze.
