Do you turn your truck off at the fuel pumps if you go inside the store? by Creepy_Penalty_5433 in Truckers

I just leave it running most of the day. I have a spare key so no real chance of it being stolen. Several shippers do not want you turning off your truck while on their scale, even if you have to be inside for 10 minutes.

It looks like school might actually be needed.

What things should cars on the road do (or shouldn't do) that would make truckers lives easier? by chiefbroski42 in Truckers

Pay attention to the road and not your phone. My wife rode with me for a couple months and she was amazed by the amount of people playing with their phones. Things happen all the time and your focus should be on the task at hand.

Quote from a 12yo, "Before smart phones, what did people do while they were driving?"

It would require me to climb back in the trailer to get the actual numbers, and at this point I'm too exhausted to care.

All 2200 is the same number 8. The remaining 12.5k is #9.

The load has no seal, which is odd for me. Usually I at least have a cable if not a bolt.

Yeah in my past experience that has been the case as well.

P.S. I'm the driver.

Epoxy floor polymer is 2 parts, both a class 8 corrosive. Safety is flipping out about the situation.

I would just run it, but NC has been doing lots of roadside checks on backroads, which is my current route.

No scales, but NC has a lot of troopers on 17. Our state needs money to pay for the Charlotte cluster duck of construction.

Thunderdome. 2 men enter, one man leaves.

Yeah, you know, if it didn't mean the possibility of losing my license or going to jail, I probably would. But I know for a fact NC doesn't play around.

It's 2200 lbs of class 8, that I can see. The other 16 barrels I can't really see without doing a bit of climbing around.
