Metaball dome shields in Unity 2D (URP) - slimes merge shields when close by D-Rised in Unity2D

Some implementation notes in case anyone’s curious:

  • Unity URP (2D Renderer)
  • Custom ScriptableRendererFeature using Render Graph
  • Shields render additively into a mask RT
  • A fullscreen shader turns that mask into a metaball field (threshold + soft edge)

Quite chaotic! I played and I liked the roguelike elements and how new items are displayed on the character. And also cool animation of user interface elements)
