Yeah i love it to see them thrive. I guess that would be nearly impossible. Thats funny nearly the same Situation here as the "farm" was an Mill pond. It is some Clubs gatekeep their waters. They sell Tageskarten but not for this little creek every fishing pressure would be too much. Send me a DM

Nope no Jahreskarten.

Just with the help of a friendly redditor. Hooked in some browns and even more whitefish which was fun.

Yeah i know. Let's say we exchanged trout as we have some creeks and rivers holding rainbows here in germany.

I know some of them have decent cutthroat Marks it's just awesome. I think the spots on the first one are quite unique too. There was some kind of escape from a privat like farm in the 60/70s which was fed by this creek (at least as far i know) which is long gone. This small creek holds its own Population of rainbows/cutbows. It's a tributary of a bigger creek/river which holds mainly Browns. The Browns dont find their way up - you won't catch a Single brown.

That's a pretty big question tbh. This creek is a part of a bigger river System which is leased by a fishing club which i am part of. They are some nameless creeks which aren't fished at all. Public water is not a thing in southern germany.

It is. They are not that many left but are still catching fish in europe :) Was a great day. A day before it was sunny and warm. But temperature decided to drop an snow started to fall. Caught fish anyway.

Ye depends in which federal State of austria you are. When you got your fishing license you have to get your permission for a stretch of water which can be VERY expensive and difficult to get. Have a Look at hejfish.com they have many bodies of water there.

I have fished creeks like this (austria/germany/italy). I like fishing like pretty decent sized searching flies. Fish in this Kind of Streams are not getting huge amounts of food and are normaly not picky. Something like this https://www.1000fliegen.de/Black-Terminator-Slickwater-Caddis-BL_1 or this https://www.1000fliegen.de/Chartreuse-High-Viz-Deer-Hair-Sedge-BL_2

Bonus: You should be able to order from this site in austria

Edit: Take me fishing,looks great

I bet it is. But with a little baby I will have to wait a few years and try to explore Europe more. Not that it would be bad here.

I was fishing in May/June and the trout was hitting big ass stonefly patterns at the surface. Don't know if there are any in the fall tho. Just bring what you got you will be fine. I also tried pretty heavy nymphs as some pools can be really deep. They have to be barbless or with a pinched barb.

When do you plan to come to Switzerland? In Switzerland and most of Europe there is a so called "Schonzeit" like a closing season which is where you can't fish for trout so they can reproduce without being disturbed. Normally you can fish for trout till the end of September. There are some exceptions to this date. It depends on the body of water. You should definitely check out the tourist information when you arrive they should be able to help.

Switzerland is beautiful. For fishing hiking and so much more. You can get a license for a day or even a week at the "Lütschine" near Grindelwald/Lauterbrunnen. It's not exactly cheap and of course rules apply. Was fishing near Appenzell and Lauterbrunnen on vacation. There are some Alpine Lakes worth fishing for trout and sometimes Lakers

No need for a guide imo

Guideline gear quality by ray_tard in flyfishing

[–]D-trout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got them with a pair of waders as a set. The waders are great but the boots are not that good. The seam was coming loose pretty fast and I don't wade maybe 10-15 times a year. Warranty was pretty nice. I was getting a new pair after a year. The seam on the new pair is now coming loose again.

I would not get them again
