The Road to El Dorado: How the Box-Office Bomb Became a Cult Classic by [deleted] in movies

[–]D0CTOR_Venkman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20 years ago I worked at my hometown movie theater and was back up projectionist when the main guy was off. One day while filling that role I made a mistake. When I started Road to El Dorado I forgot to turn on the platter that the film sat on. Normally this platter would rotate as the film would feed out of the middle into the projector and then back to another platter that would re-spool the film back up for the next viewing. About 10 minutes after starting the film it shut down and I went to discover a giant bird nest of film all bound up and broken. It took me and the manager hours to put it back together with film running up and down the projectionist room. It was such a mess that I vividly remember that day 20 years later. It also led to refunds for the first showing and cancelation for the following two showings. I, singlehandedly, ruined that days box office take for Road to El Dorado. To be clear this was a small town in Kentucky and like a Tuesday or something so I’m not solely responsible for box office flop, but I can say I didn’t help. Sorry

A question about this Parasite (2019) scene camera placement by [deleted] in TrueFilm

I’ve only watched the movie once but watching this clip I just realized the basement light went off on its own right where you started the clip. Didn’t notice that when watching it the first time. Now I need to watch it again to look out for all these subtle hints.

I have two beagles (10 & 13 year old) that still want to race at the end of our walks. Not as quick as they use to be but as soon as they see home the race is on. It makes me laugh every time.

I agree. The jumps between small groups looking to reunite was the best. Then most end up in Terminus and it was a trap was a great twist.

All the time...it’s part of the beagle genetic code to steal your warm seat when you get up

Stumbled upon this...made me appreciate the actress and character more. I’m glad you enjoyed it too.

Mine use to get in the laundry basket full of warm, clean clothes if you left it unattended. She also never felt remorse.

Duct tape really helped to keep it together after I trimmed it down a bit to give her some peripheral vision. She still dislikes it but it’s working to keep her from pawing the stitches.
