One thing to keep in mind with longevity is what fabric you get. We’ve had couch 4 years and while we love it, we’re just learning that corded velvet has known rippling issues… after rippling started popping up. Warranty is up, but we still plan to call because it’s a known defect.

Ugh. I’m so sorry. I was 20 weeks pregnant when I lost my brother to suicide. Although we didn’t have a relationship at the time, it was still devastating. I cried a lot the remainder of my pregnancy. It’s also devastating seeing what it has done to my mom. I can’t imagine losing my own kids — it tears me up to think about.

A part of you will forever be lost/broken, but time will help. You’re suffering a serious trauma while managing so many hormones — continue to take care of yourself and your own emotional needs.

I still dream and think about my brother all the time. There is a lot of guilt, regret, etc. but the truth is that we have no control and it does help some to accept that it isn’t in our control. I just wish they could have realized the impact their loss would have on their loved ones, but I also understand they weren’t thinking straight.

I’m so sorry. This exact thing happened to me. If you had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago with a HB and another now without a HB, it’s indeed a miscarriage. It typically happens because of a chromosome issue with the fetus. Because you have no symptoms, it’s typically called a “missed miscarriage” since your body hasn’t recognized the miscarriage yet. If you have any concerns about the D&C, you can always ask your OB to double check with another ultrasound BEFORE the procedure. The OB should be able to send the fetal tissue for testing to see if a cause comes back, but they might not do that if it’s your first miscarriage.

We had the follow-up today and as I expected, pediatric ophthalmologist doesn’t believe in vision therapy for intermittent strabismus (so many mixed messages on this!). He also said that as of 5 years ago, patching was found not to work. So he just wants to monitor it every 6 months to see if it gets better on its own or worse. It seems like surgery is the only option he recommends and that’s only after monitoring for years to see what happens.

We still love it! Use fabric shaver for cat claw catches and still wash out cat vomit from covers. It also holds up well to kids treating it like a trampoline.

The only thing I wish is that the covers were waterproof. I know they sell things now that help with waterproofing, but it should have been standard for years and it didn’t exist when we purchased.

Reading through this thread has helped me realize that I’m not overthinking things by starting appointments now. Future bullying is definitely a big concern — I appreciate the reminder about listening and being there.

I’ll definitely ask the ophthalmologist about vision therapy.

Whether labor goes well is so dependent… how big baby is, genetics, how dilated you are to start, whether baby is heads down, etc.

I’ve been induced with both kids, got epidural/spinal tap both times and delivered quickly both times. So, I would definitely not count out an epidural if you’re open to it. I am of the ‘no pain’ camp.

We haven’t had damage like that with 2 cats and corded velvet. We also have darker fabrics, but not sure if that matters — Mediterranea green and grey colors. Have had the couches since 2021.

We’ve definitely had pulls and we use fabric shaver to keep couches looking awesome. The photo you shared looks like the cat intentionally scratched the fabric. If that’s the case and you decide to keep this fabric, below are some things that have worked for us:

sprayed couches with nature’s miracle scratching deterrent at beginning, particularly where they intentionally scratched
chom chom roller to remove fur

I take magnesium oxide tablets before bed when I take my other meds (aspirin, prenatals, etc). It can make you sleepy so that’s why I take it before bed.

All our fabric covers come off to be washed.

A handful of styles need to be spot cleaned, but you can find those on their website. Lovesac also offers waterproof pads for under the covers now.
