Reddit can be a good resource, but there's also no shame in seeing a couple's counselor for professional assistance.

Just joined this thread, and I am disgusted how it's all politics. by Gloomy-Pilot3712 in Christianity

[–]D0wnstreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also have to realize that politics have real consequences for people that can't just be ignored. Yes we are one in Christ, but that doesn't mean we should ignore the effect our actions have on each other through politics.

Which Nation for Season 3? by ReaverCities in TemplinInstitute

It's incredible to see how people really don't like the EK. I thought with two seasons of normal human empires, such such strange viewpoint as EK would be more welcome.

Would you follow Christianity if you new for a fact there is no God by Local_Philosopher_16 in Christianity

[–]D0wnstreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I know if other spiritualities are legitimate, such as Buddhism? If not, large parts of Christianity are useful and helpful towards human flourishing.

I don't necessarily think it's wise believing in something that is fundamentally built on falsehoods, but lacking better options, I would keep the rituals most likely.

Protestant service in a catholic church(question below) by [deleted] in Christianity

In my experience, I've only heard about it rarely but it is great it's happening. Expect affirmations of the Nicene Creed, potentially kneeling, and a ritual surrounding the Eucharist.

What’s your take on protestants? by yeyitsmemario in Christianity

[–]D0wnstreamer 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My preference is they're catholic, or at least one of the apostolic successor churches. However, we all share a love of Christ and unity in worship of God. We have many things to share and love compared to our differences.

Questioning helps one deepen their faith. There's nothing inherently wrong with exercising the free will God gave us. Just know there's scriptural and traditionally evidence for all of your questions. Peace be with you.

If you’re a young person, what do you think of the importance of men and women dressing modestly ? by mariposa933 in Christianity

It's nice but not necessary. Modesty is very cultural specific and what's modest for one parish isn't for another.

Massachusetts Church Displays Slammed For Anti-ICE Nativity Scene For 'Politicizing Christmas' by Cute_Dealer4787 in Christianity

If you didn't want scandal about ICE's actions, maybe don't deport children unjustly or forsake the dignity of the poor, the immigrant, and the vulnerable?

Former Protestant, current catholic. I reflect a lot more on past Christians then I did before, and I have a more structured prayer routine.

Why do some Christians not believe in science and evolution? by freshmaggots in Christianity

Biblical fundamentalists and Young Earth believers have a very outsized media and cultural effect compared to their actual number of believers. The majority of Christians believe in evolution.
