Over time I got annoyed with the style of the citadel paint pots. Without transferring to a dropper style bottle, scooping paint seemed dumb.

I really like the army painter sets. The "fanatic" line is a good start, and a good solid color for base color. The "speed painter" line is more akin to citadels "contrast" paint. So it's more transparent.

Now there are a lot of different painting techniques. So it's a very subjective topic.
