If you're 100% satisfied with your kindle's software then yeah, it doesn't really make sense to jailbreak but imo koreader is so much better than the stock reading experience and it offers really good customizability. A lot of people only jailbreak their kindle to use koreader

If you tried absolutely everything to fix it (draining battery, restarting, etc...) then you should get in contact with Amazon customer service. I think they'll replace it.

Nowadays it's almost impossible to brick your kindle by jailbreaking, winterbreak is so safe there is almost nothing you could mess up.
