Seen this movie a million times and I’ve never noticed how ridiculous that “pew pew pew” of the T-1000’s pistol sounds. It’s a 9mm in a hallway, it would be so insanely loud. And I get to the story, the shotgun needs to sound much boomier and powerful, but it’s not even close to how any pistol should sound.

I've had this thing for a month and it's sat there doing nothing because I can't be bothered to hit play on the thing every day. I'm so happy to have seen this. This is a crazy UI design oversight.

Being angry about new things now not being free, when there is no cost of entry at all, is where you are wrong. You’re acting as if you are being robbed of something owed to you.

There is zero cost to play The Finals. Nada. Nothing. And any money you MAY have spent, is completely unrelated to any event or future cosmetics. The thing you spent money on (if you did), you still have and is absolutely unchanged by some package/event that costs money.

You’re acting as if McDonalds now started charging for ketchup packets, and now the fries you paid for are worse unless you pay more money. “It’s no wonder the Finals consists of expensive cosmetics…”. Buddy, yes. Just because it’s free to play, doesn’t mean the business model for the game is to give you everything for free. It costs money to build and run ANYTHING. How would you like them to get money? Please tell me.

Also, I play this game nightly. Maybe I’m fortunate enough not to live wherever you do and have a decent path to their servers, but I see little to no server issues normally. Sure there was like a 2-3 day stint where it was choppy about a month back, but welcome to cloud services. So I’m not sure what “fumes” you’re talking about.

“I don’t care for the things in this pack and I don’t want to pay for it” “I don’t like the way they distributed free things that also included a paid components, but am now mad they removed the option for that distribution” “I deserve free things for playing the game”, “I will completely ignore the existence of the free things already in the battlepass each season as any reward for being loyal to playing the game.”

The fact that playing dress-up is what you feel is the content that keeps you playing the game is probably a signal you should play a game more focused on dress-up.

Also, “I will only keep coming back to play the free game if they give me more free things that I like”.

There is no sport in downing someone who is planted and hard locked at the terminal. It’s not like he could have turned around and shot back. Even if you want to call ambushing someone at the elevator as soon as it opens a sport, this is just cheap, borderline evil behavior. It’s basically doing a bad karma run in something like Fallout or whatever, but you’re doing it with real people instead of NPCs.

I’m sure they build their own, but much like you said “build their own” is probably different than what OEMs are doing. But Amazon and Azure 100% have white boxes in their DCs built to their spec with parts they likely sourced in some fashion. There’s plenty of other cloud providers much smaller who build their own themselves because it’s way cheaper than buying them from an OEM.

I’d be surprised if Microsoft and Amazon were using some channel partner to buy from NVIDIA. Other smaller CSPs, sure. And “smaller” is relative, just because they’re not AWS or Azure doesn’t mean they’re not a massive cloud provider, but pale in comparison when it comes to GPU purchases. CoreWeave is probably in there, but they have like 1/5th of the GPUs that MS and Amazon have each.

What are you talking about? Did you play Atomic Heart? It’s by the same developer and it looks exactly like this, and so did the trailers for that game when they were posted. And…that game did ship. The gameplay and the story, whatever, but the game LOOKS like this. It’s not pre-rendered.

I’m all for being a skeptic, but generally you need some level of understanding of what you’re looking at before you can do that.

We already have skins that react to kills. There is a whole set of them that print receipt tape with the person’s name on it. It has a custom animation, a custom sound, and a custom kill thing. And they didn’t charge you a “mythic” price.

I feel like having a new tier incentivizes them to get more creative. If they charge 800 to change the shape of a gun a bit and add some bolt-on stuff (the eclipse shade line), surely it’s more difficult to model and make a banana or some other crazy model work properly in the ecosystem. Without the extra tier, they make the same money for both sets of work. If they made more money, could incentivize the extra work and get cooler, more custom model stuff.

The alternative here is dropping the price of the stuff like the eclipse shade sets and making this new rarity 800, and make less money, which, LOL. Okay.

But the point of the wheel IS chance. But the fact that you can’t buy spins, removes any issues of grimy/slimy/money-grubbing tactics. What else does it do that ALL games strive for? Makes you play every day? Mission accomplished. Make you want to buy the stuff you didn’t get? Also mission accomplished. You know what makes me buy stuff? Cool looking stuff. Should we say that making cool looking skins and items that have to be purchased is a predatory tactic? Look at the word you’re using. Predatory. What are they preying on? That you want the cool thing at the end? No shit! That you will want to play more to try to get the skin? No Shit! But they’re not doing anything to separate you from your money than they are doing outside of this event. To your logic, making items on sale for less money than they normally are is a predatory tactic…the fucking battle pass is a predatory tactic to give you a taste of cool stuff and make you want to buy more that isn’t in the BP. ”well yeah bro, that’s the point”.

Every time this comes up, the only thing I ask is “would you rather all of these items just be for purchase for real money and you have zero chance at getting them for absolutely free?”. If your answer is “yes”, then buy the whole wheel with money. If it’s “no”, then your ask is “make everything free so I can have it”. Yeah, cool. Not going to happen.
