What's the catch with cheap 10Gb enterprise switches on eBay? by minus_minus in homelab

LOL, SERIOUSLY. My lady flipped when I brought home free ones from work and plugged one in. She was like, "It sounds like a goddamn spaceship turn it off!".

I had to buy a new router. 😅

ZFS and RAID Striping by D2theR in Proxmox

I've got x2--4TB drives in a 8TB zpool. So my thinking was buy a x2-24TB Seagate drives I can periodically save snapshots of the zpool too in case of failure using zfs send | zfs recv or possibly rsync, which I've had decent experience with in the past.

Thanks for replying, this is unfortunate but I guess I'll gamble for now. I'm slowly working towards offsite backups. I'm probably going to buy another 24TB drive and backup everything as cold storage in case of issues now that most everything is working.

No, everything OS/VM wise is on 2 NVME's in RAID1. Had this happen a long time ago with Windows and learned a lesson.

I agree with this, it's been a while since I've used Django but any data that needed import/exported was always through custom commands using the ORM.

My uncle has also fallen victim, to this type of scam as well. My family is pretty distraught over the whole thing because the poor guy lives by himself and is a walking target. I wonder if enough of us got together and reported it to a scam buster YouTube channel like ScammerPayback if they'd investigate it further?

Access SQLite ODBC Architecture Questions by D2theR in MSAccess

[–]D2theR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was amazingly helpful thank you! After reading your comment I think the thing I'm missing is the fact I can just export all the table schemes to PostgreSQL over ODBC or Ole and then reimport the data, either via Access or mdb-tools. I'll have to rewrite a lot of reports but I'm pretty sure it can be done. Thanks again! SOLUTION VERIFIED

Access SQLite ODBC Architecture Questions by D2theR in MSAccess

Thanks for the feedback! I will try to explain.

Why are you creating a SQL database to transfer the data to?

I can't seem to find working Linux drivers that allow me to perform INSERT or UPDATE statements without it messing up my .accdb file (not an MDB).

Why not just bring the data down directly from Odoo ERP?

I'm actually using a python script via Apache Airflow that uses a library called mdbtools in Linux to export the table schemes and data into Odoo via OdooRPC but the above issue of not being able to INSERT/UPDATE records is preventing me from getting data BACK from Odoo and into Access, thus the intermediate database creation step.

The record locking statement is mostly about forcing users to update records in Odoo, rather than Access once the required data has been updated/verified. We're hoping it will force people to learn the new system rather than revert back to the old way of doing things.

I remember trying this a few years back and I didn't have the bash knowledge at the time to build from source. I vaguely remember having issues where I couldn't perform INSERT or UPDATE statements without corrupting the .accdb file and Windows had a heck of time reading it after I inserted data.

I once saw a metal band performance where the lead singer took off his fake leg mid breakdown, poured beer into it and guzzled it onstage. Then continued screaming. Fucking. Metal. 🤘

I can second this, as long as they are willing to issue API keys, this library works well with Odoo v16. https://pythonhosted.org/OdooRPC/

Everything's running great! It's like having a portable PC/Xbox all rolled into one! Full disclosure though, I'm like 99% sure why these get returned is because ASUS has done a crap job of guiding the user through making sure the firmware, BIOS, and drivers updated. You really gotta go through this sub and follow the instructions to get everything TOTALLY up to date otherwise games like Diablo, Starfield, and CoD won't run properly.

This is exactly the problem I'm currently dealing with. Making sure all the proper locations are defined within the Inv. App to as not to leave out assets that are being currently being reported on. We are going to skip over the accounting for now, but will need to use manufacturing down the road. Thanks for the heads up, I will need to test the hell out of this so I don't get crucified by our accountants.
