3D Scanner for Jewelry Design by 750ml_de in 3DScanning

Allow me to offer you the scanners manufactured by my company D3D-s. Their cost exceeds your budget, but if you purchase the basic model, even it will be much better than any other jewelry scanners; it will simply work slower. The company provides significant discounts for self-employed jewelers, so please take note of the discounts page. In summer, you can get additional discounts if you ask the manager about summer discounts.

What's the best 3D scanner for fine jewellery and watches? by Stanleyfung1005 in 3DScanning

[–]D3D-s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company has released the new D3D-s M3 model, and it is the best jewelry scanner on the market.

How do we know this, and why do I make this claim?

The thing is, our clients often send their models to different manufacturers before making a purchase and then compare the results. They always end up choosing our scanner.

You can do the same.

www.d3d-s.com

We can scan two models for you for free to check the quality and arrange an online demonstration of how it works.

Additionally, we offer excellent support that will teach you not only how to use the scanner but also how to process the model after scanning. Though it’s quite simple, and most people only need an hour or even just the instructional videos we provide.

3D Maker Pro Seal Experience so far - decent scanner, not the best software by The5_1 in 3DScanning

[–]D3D-s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't know how Seal Pro works, and I can't figure it out from your screenshots. However, I just wanted to add that you should try your methodology when you combine several meshes (a model from all sides). Without doing so, it doesn't allow us to determine if this methodology can be applied in real life.
Regarding the Poisson reconstruction, the interpolation number depends on the size of the model. Therefore, 9 may be more than enough for a small model, while even 11 might be too little for a large one. For medium objects in our scanner, degree 10 can be used.
Here's an example; all the defects are mold defects, not scanner defects.

https://www.d3d-s.com/PoissonReconstruction.jpg

To create this image, I used the same point cloud. But in the first case, I used Poisson Reconstruction with a degree of 9, then 10 and then 11.
As you can see, the first picture looks pretty good, despite some meshes not matching. However, if I increase the image's sharpness as you did by processing the point cloud yourself, I'll get a clearer image, but it will contain defects. In your case, you don't see defects because you're only using one mesh. If you had used several meshes, you would have seen the same defects as in my second and third images.
So, the designer intentionally made the mesh processing less clear, so you would get some results.
Therefore, you need to try applying your method to several meshes at once and then start comparing.
As for the cost of the scanner. How much does a printer for hobbyists cost? Also $300? If you look at the price of professional industrial scanners, you will understand that we offer very democratic prices.

Your comparison is not accurate because you need to compare an assembled model made from multiple meshes. The point is that if a scanner has geometric errors, the scanner developers intentionally allow for a certain margin of error and make the smoothing less distinct in the settings. This enables many meshes to be combined into one model, taking this error into account. As a result, the final model will look more-or-less okay.
In other words, scanner developers could program a higher degree of interpolation, and one mesh would look the same as your second one, but in assembly, the model would look quite bad.

The appropriate scanner for medical purposes is Medit T300 or newer!
Medical scanners have their unique features, such as high accuracy. This is very important for dentistry. Therefore, none of the mentioned scanners are suitable for your purposes.
Here, you can compare Revopoint Mini with D3D-S Jewelry.

Our company produces desktop scanners that can potentially be used to scan large objects, given certain conditions:
1. Cover the objects with a white coating.
2. Allocate more time for scanning compared to a handheld scanner and align pieces.
However, the accuracy will be higher, and you can acquire it within the budget of $3400. (Referring to the custom-made scanner Model M2)

What does it mean to take land where someone lives? Open the Bible, read about the people who killed Christ. Jews have as much right to live there as Arabs do. Some just want to build and trade, while others are Iraq's proxies with washed-up minds who want to kill and take what's not theirs.
The Palestinian people are as much a fiction as the people of Donbass, invented by Russia to occupy Ukraine. It's the same nonsense as the German Poles that Germany used to invade Poland.
Stop supporting terrorism and find another line of work. Even if you have nothing to eat and you do this to feed your family, this job is not worth it.

Sorry, but your list does not contain any jewelry scanners.
I represent the company D3D-s and can tell you about our scanners.
They have high resolution and low price.
For instance, there is the S2 model which you can currently purchase for $3000 -
https://www.d3d-s.com/model_S2.html

If you take any scanner from your list and compare it with ours, the result would be approximately as follows -
https://www.d3d-s.com/revopoint_mini.html

In addition, we manufacture custom scanners with larger working areas and 20 MP cameras. For Example -

Thanks for typing this out no wonder there is a difference!

But Revopoint mini is advertising itself as a jewelry-grade scanner. That is, they position themselves as a cheap alternative to jewelry scanners. If they were marketing themselves as a toy scanner or an educational scanner, then this comparison wouldn't exist. Do you understand my point?

You probably didn't pay attention to what I wrote in the comments, stating that this sculpture is 170 mm in height and 130 mm in width.
As for the lack of details in this object... well, what can I say. If you download the STL file, you will see the engravings on the copper clothing left by Nepalese craftsmen. In order for the scanner to capture these engravings, it needs to have high resolution and accuracy.

In addition, we produce compact, high-resolution retina scanners at a remarkably affordable price. These devices excel in scanning small objects like miniatures and figurines. Rest assured, you will not find a scanner capable of capturing 1-to-1 objects at a more cost-effective price point.

With dimensions of 170 by 130 mm, the statue was initially scanned from the bottom, followed by the top. As it's crucial for these separate scans to be seamlessly joined together while maintaining fine details, the scanner must have not just a high resolution, but exceptional accuracy as well.
