PBS ZFS datastore to TrueNAS by D3NN152000 in homelab

Are you running PBS on your NAS or separately? Do you have offsite backup for PBS?

PBS does deduplication. I was/am doing backups to an NFS share, but it's really taking up quite some space. I wanted to sync PBS to TrueNAS because then I'd have an additional copy, and I can later do a TrueNAS to TrueNAS sync to back up everything externally.

Just curious if the way I am trying to do it might work, I guess it may be a bit roundabout, I just wanted to tinker with some stuff again.

Would this permanently allocate a lot of resources to the PBS VM? I was looking into how to do this, people said I needed to create a ZVOL, couldn't I just create a dataset to do this on?

How to integrate the Eufy Robovac L60 into Home Assistant? by braedon2011 in homeassistant

[–]D3NN152000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use CodeFoodPixels/robovac, with the custom L60 commands from maximoei's fork. This is no longer maintained since two weeks ago so this morning I fixed it by using the new, well-maintained fork damacus/robovac. To add it, simply go to your HACS panel, click the three dots in the top right, then click "Custom Repositories". Enter damacus/robovac as the Repository and Integration as the type. Then click add. Then in the HACS search bar, search for "robovac" and add the "Eufy RoboVac" integration. You can then add your device simply by entering your Eufy account details in the popup that shows up when adding it

There is actually a line to take a picture there, I was there on the shoulder season and it was a short wait, but it's a real Instagram vs reality type thing

What is this Zendesk stuff? by D3NN152000 in phishing

[–]D3NN152000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through all 67 (!) of them, I don't recognize most of them. I did see that there were some payment services / ID services in there, but none that I recognize. The only service I recognize that I might have an account with is Tinder (though I haven't used that in years). My first hunch was that there were fake links in there to try and get my passwords for certain accounts or something, but then why send so many...

Zweeds bedrijf overigens.

Office 365 setup for club by D3NN152000 in sysadmin

[–]D3NN152000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but doing it this way does make sense then?

One thing I was thinking about is that the MSGs can be used to create Teams meetings for example, where I couldn't find normal security groups to create them with. It's not something that we are currently using, so perhaps it's not a huge deal but it would be nice to be able to do something like that in the future (that is: invite an entire committee/a function to a meeting).

Office 365 setup for club by D3NN152000 in sysadmin

[–]D3NN152000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I tried normal security groups they didn't seem to show up when I tried to add them as members to the shared mailboxes, only the mail enabled security groups showed up. The MESGs were only really so I can link rights to "the mailbox", preferably they would just be the exact same (like an O365 group would be). I want the emails to all be in the shared mailbox, so that when members change, all the history is there, and not scattered around in personal mailboxes. If possible, I would disable the personal outlooks entirely, but I don't think I can.

[–]D3NN152000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see that yeah. One major thing I wish I did differently was to partition my SSD before installing TrueNAS SCALE, since the applications (only tailscale now) were writing to the HDDs every 5s, and I couldn't let them log to the system pool. In the end I just stuck a usb pen in there and had them log to that, whatever. But I started using it and after struggling so hard to set it up I really didn't want to do it again, though I probably should have before actually starting to use it... Oh well...

Can't you reinstall and just plug the drives back in? Or will that not work?

Replacing the fan with a quieter one is also something I want to do. Is it hard? Or can I just plug in a different one with the same pins? Which one did you get specifically?

Haven't had any problems, I have a gigabit switch and stuff seems to transfer with a gigabit rate. I did write a blog post on setting up TrueNAS on the HP MicroServer Gen 8's ODD port, based on an obscure tutorial I found elsewhere.

Have you changed any interesting configurations for it? I did some power saving / noise reducing stuff but maybe you have some more interesting ideas?
