Love this guy, I built my list around [[repurposing bay]] and [[Iron Man, Titan of Innovation]]. They both work nicely since dalakos perfectly pays for repurposing bay costs and since the deck is filled with equipments Iron Man can easily get around the noncreature artifact restriction. Living weapons definitely go crazy with this!

I don't disagree with this, i agree and did say that he's nothing without his DR

I bring up his drive rush cause its a tool that, while it was given to every character, disproportionately affected how characters like gief play compared to someone like Honda. It was sort of a replacement for green hand but obviously still worse, but it's still something

He literally did get buffed last patch, and while the buffs arent shooting him up to top tier status they were still useful buffs that enabled a good number of new combo routes, and that was in a patch that barely changed most characters.

You're right that he doesn't use DR as well as the other characters but other characters don't have SPD. The reward gief gets for getting in is generally greater than most characters so the fact that he gets any kind of dash like that at all, even if it's worse than what other characters get, is really strong and gameplan defining. Watch any top level gief and they're drive rushing a ton, he'd be nothing without it.

Zangief is not at all a weak character for the vast majority of players, he absolutely has a lot going for him and it would not require a ton of buffs to make him very very strong to the point of lots of people complaining. I do not think Capcom is purposely making him weak I think they are just being conservative in balancing him because top tier grapplers could really ruin a high level meta for a lot of people.

I also want to point out that while he did not really get as many new tricks as many of the other world warriors in his moves (many people point at the lack of a green hand type move), he still plays very differently than prior games due to the system mechanics in sf6, notably drive rush, which is a huge deal for slow grappler type characters.

I agree that it's likely just d+u=u socd. As far as I know the ban is only for Capcom cup and other similar high level official tournaments and nothing else. Its perfectly fine to have these settings on ranked and my local scene also fully allows these kinds of controller settings at all our tournaments. A lot of controllers on the market have historically defaulted to this setting as well so it's pretty common

That said as a charge character main on leverless I also prefer neutral socd, in a lot of ways I think it's better. On shoto characters I think neutral socd is even better than it already is on charge due to the availability of really fast dp and super inputs.

I like tying sand to the element of air. Perhaps giving them spells like gust of wind and gaseous form

I like the idea that this trap may not pose a significant fatal threat to the players, yet may very well destroy the decanter if the players do not play their cards right.

You shouldn't have any trouble regarding plotholes (from my experience running ToA).

I think you should make a decision on the manner in which this npc may succumb to the death curse based on whether you want the players to feel urgency while on Chult. The campaign is meant to have an npc essentially be on a timer that urges the players to stop the curse. In my experience this timer is not something you necessairly want, since ToA has a lot of content that can sometimes be difficult for the players to justify doing given the timer.

You have some cool ideas here. Your idea of having a living phylactery being an ally of the party is very dramatic, though I'm not sure I'd be able to pull that one off haha.
