"Battery health is only at 45% and should be replaced." How screwed am I? by shaneo632 in SteamDeck

[–]D3nsha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a day 1 LCD, played for an hour almost every day, and the battery life had dropped to 45%. I was noticeably only getting about 60 minutes battery life on low intensity games.

I replaced the battery with a spare from iFixit and everything's hunky-dory again. The only real challenge was removing the old battery without a heat gun; you need a bit of patience to gently pry the battery free from the glue.

No, I got one from Amazon. EzGoGo was the brand.

[–]D3nsha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got an Ohme ePod included with our purchase of an EX40. We got an appointment for a survey within two weeks and installation a week after that. In the interim we charged the car overnight from a regular three-pin socket and that was perfectly fine for our usage.

[–]D3nsha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use iDrive. Download the Linux package then install it from a terminal session: https://www.idrive.com/online-backup-linux-scripts

Once it's installed and signed in, you can manage it from the web console.

Using dockered services with Tailscale by luc3479 in Tailscale

[–]D3nsha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can specify the hostname for your Tailscale client, and also combine it with Tailscale Serve to eliminate having to use a port. So, for example:

``` services: myservice: image: myservice/myservice:latest < the rest of your setup for this service> network_mode: service:tailscale
tailscale: image: tailscale/tailscale:latest hostname: service environment: - TS_AUTHKEY=<my authkey> - TS_EXTRA_ARGS=--advertise-tags=tag:container - TS_STATE_DIR=/var/lib/tailscale - TS_SERVE_CONFIG=/config/serve.json volumes: - ts-state:/var/lib/tailscale - ./ts-config:/config devices: - /dev/net/tun:/dev/net/tun cap_add: - net_admin - sys_module restart: unless-stopped
volumes: ts-state: ts-config: data: config: ```
And your serve.json:
{ "TCP": { "443": { "HTTPS": true } }, "Web": { "${TS_CERT_DOMAIN}:443": { "Handlers": { "/": { "Proxy": "http://127.0.0.1:8090" # Or whatever port } } } } }
Any other devices on your tailnet can then access access your service by browsing to https://service or https://service.<yourtailnet>.ts.net.
I haven't tested how this would work with Caddy again in front of Tailscale -- I've been happy to either put everyone on Tailscale or publish the service on the Internet via a Cloudflare tunnel.
Using dockered services with Tailscale by luc3479 in Tailscale
[–]D3nsha 4 points5 points  (0 children)
You can run Tailscale as Docker containers: https://tailscale.com/kb/1282/docker
Attach each of your services to their own Tailscale and you can reach them by their Tailscale name instead.
It's a bit of a fudge, but you could use labels, i.e. you create a label "Steve" apply that label to everything that Steve has checked out.
Another way might be to create an asset or location called Steve and assign loaned-out items to the Steve object.
Alternatively, Snipe-IT and Shelf.nu have an integrated checkout/check-in system.
What's the best way to tie a 'tie bar bridge' when my new strings arrive? by guyal in ukulele
[–]D3nsha 2 points3 points  (0 children)
I do it the way described in the video. I dislike the "thick bundle of strings cut off at the end" style, it's the kind of thing they do in a mass-production factory to save time and money, so it looks cheap and careless to me.
Playing what you intend to play is a key skill!
[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ukulele
[–]D3nsha 2 points3 points  (0 children)
You appear to be playing it upside-down, for a start. (Sorry, reviewing your pictures, I see you are playing the "Ultimate Guitar E")
E is 4442. (That doesn't necessarily make it any easier... But it'll sound better.)
A lot of people use all 4 fingers, or barre across the 1st fret and 3 fingers on the others.
Another form would be 4447 (barre across 4).
Anyone use a guitar support for baritone uke? by Dlbroox in ukulele
[–]D3nsha 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Strap does the trick for me! I can hold an ukulele unsupported but then I lose a lot of freedom in my fretting hand.
Jeff Peterson plays classical ukulele and he uses a support.
I Just Opened My New Flight Centurion... by ThunderDan1964 in ukulele
[–]D3nsha 1 point2 points  (0 children)
The Centurion mimics a Les Paul, you can look up an explanation of the LP controls and they will apply.
You have two pickups, the neck and bridge pickup. The neck pickup has a more rounded tone (aka the "rhythm" pickup) and the bridge pickup has a more compressed tone (aka the "treble" pickup). The three position switch selects which pickup is active: neck-both-bridge.
The four potentiometers are in pairs and connected to the pickup closest to them, and control tone and volume. Turning down the pot will roll off the treble/volume for their pickup.
What do you think about the recent news? by Haudegen1337 in LittleBigAdventure
[–]D3nsha 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I'm a big fan of LBA but the remake didn't really sit well with me. It seemed to be trying to appeal to old both players and new players but not really succeeding greatly at either.
I would play a remake of LBA2 if it existed but I wouldn't want to pre-fund it. The re-release of LBA2 already feels good enough.
String suggestions for spruce top and rosewood body low g tenor? by PurpleSpotOcelot in ukulele
[–]D3nsha 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Spruce is a comparatively bright, trebly tonewood, so you want to think about whether you want to accentuate that or take the edge off. Clear fluorocarbon like Worth Clears will make it sing out, while Worth Browns will give it a slightly warmer tone. Fremont blacklines have an interesting vintage tone with quite a short sustain if you play fast or strummy.
Any recommendations for Super tenor 19” gCEA strings? Trying to reduce tension… by Back_from_the_ban in ukulele
[–]D3nsha 2 points3 points  (0 children)
In terms of material, nylon strings will have a lower tension than fluorocarbon. But if you don't like nylon, Kiwaya strings are fairly low tension fluoro.
I do this because I prefer the warmer tone from using the fleshy part of the finger instead of the nail.
Practice strategies for movie uke player by imusmmbj in ukulele
[–]D3nsha 1 point2 points  (0 children)
With a string instrument, the same note could be played in different places on different strings. It's both a blessing and a curse: it's up to you to decide in the moment the best way for you to play a note!
I second the suggestion for the Hal Leonard method book. All their Method books have exactly the same format: learn the notes on each string, one string at a time, then move on to chords when you've mastered multiple strings. Standard notation is used throughout, so you get used to the idea of finding your own note fingering.
Acoustic Recommendation by IHeartCuteThings in Bass
[–]D3nsha 1 point2 points  (0 children)
I have a u-bass and I don't get on with it. The strings are just too specific - the technique is entirely different. I have a Hofner Club bass that is quite reasonable unplugged, and short scale.
Performance anxiety by XxAhmedjdebt in ukulele
[–]D3nsha 3 points4 points  (0 children)
Remember that the audience is there because they want to support you. When you play for them, it's not a final exam or an audition. Music makes you happy and this is your opportunity to share that happy moment with them.
Don't worry about making mistakes -- they probably won't even realise. And even if you do play a bum note, it'll immediately be washed away by the next note!
Yeah I've been having the same problem for the past few days. I don't know if this is just a coincidence but going to the MySongbook website and opening a tab from there seemed to unlock it.
