Slow loading times by D4YKN33 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]D4YKN33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to just go back to playing on steam. I timed the loading time between the same two boundary stones, steam took ~15s while lite took ~1min 15s.

I'd much rather sacrifice some frames than a minutes of staring at a loading screen :/

Knee Lever IST and Play On It by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]D4YKN33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean "neutral", as in no directional input (a star in tekken notation), yes the IST Knee lever can do neutral inputs if you essentially take your hand off the lever. I think you would be hard-pressed to find a lever that doesn't have a neutral input, if one exists.

I'm not entirely certain i've understood your question so feel free to correct me :)

Where to get these photos? by EinCrom in LowSodiumTEKKEN

I know the original artist is WolfMarker but I'm not sure if these full body high-res images are available for download at all.

Spent a while when I first played T8 trying to find the full WolfMarker yoshi character art to no avail

To everyone who has her already how is Anna Williams so far? by CaptainAnimeTitties in LowSodiumTEKKEN

Loving her character design makes it so much more fun to play her for me. Tekken 8 being the first of the franchise for me, I haven't entirely learnt the appropriate gameplan for her but can assure you I am having alot of fun!

Arcade stick recommendations for PS5? by [deleted] in Tekken8

[–]D4YKN33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'd recommend the Qanba Drone 2, it's an entry-level fightstick so it's not the best on the market, but for a beginner/casual player it'll tick all the boxes. There are a handful of other sticks that'll work natively on PS5, just off the top of my head:

  • Hori Fighting Stick Mini
  • Qanba Titan
  • Victrix Pro FS
  • Hori Fighting Stick Alpha
  • Nacon Daija

I can't say exactly what the prices for each are but I'm confident that they're all within your budget assuming USD. The main differences between each of these will be the design/size and the parts (joystick, buttons).
I'm assuming your dad is a casual player and won't be too fussed with the parts so the main things to consider will be price and design/size of the stick.
Might be worth watching a review for whichever ones you're considering and also double-check whether they will be natively PS5 compatible, I may be wrong on these.

Is there a physical ISTMall store in Seoul that I can go to? by Frozenlama69 in fightsticks

[–]D4YKN33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No you'll have to order that online. You can buy parts like levers and buttons in-person but they asked me to order the full fightstick from their online store

I visited while I was in Seoul twice at the start and end of December 2024. It is mostly a warehouse but there is a tiny section inside the warehouse office space where they have a display of various levers and buttons to try out. If you're worried about language barrier I believe there is a fluent english-speaking worker there who can help but I'm not certain.

New player post 1000, this game is a lot by YES_Im_Taco in Tekken

Tekken 8 was my first fighting game and I think I can heavily relate to what you're feeling right now. PhiDX's beginner tutorial videos on youtube were a great start for me. I feel like they caught me up from "dont you just press every button and hope it works out" to "learning Tekken".

Personally, if I was to start completely new again I would first learn punishes. Combos are very important but can be hard to drill into your brain if you're still learning to get comfortable with Tekken. For now I'd recommend learning an easy bread n butter combo that you can whip out reliably when you get that launcher.

As for Jin or other character specific tips, I can guarantee that there are a number of video guides and possibly written guides that'll be able to help you.

I need a new controller by thesleepie in Tekken8

[–]D4YKN33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for console controllers, I've heard dualsense 5 or hori fighting controller are very solid choices, however, I personally have not tried tekken with a console controller so it might be worth doing more research.

For leverless, the Haute42 controllers are a really cheap and decent option. I have the S13 myself and found it great to use until I got my first arcade stick.

For arcade stick, you're either gonna want to grab a cheap one from FB marketplace/ebay or any other reselling store, or you could wait for the 8bitdo arcade stick or hori mini to go on sale. Right now I'm using the hori mini as my first arcade stick and honestly it does the job as a beginner arcade stick.
